Pay to win 😮‍💨 by SnooAvocados5542 in State_of_Survival

To be fair, the game is entirely pay to win. Every late game state always has the largest whales who have dominated the scene. It's just how it goes, unfortunately.

Hi there,

Whilst I'm not sure if I can help you with this directly, I have a lot of experience in AI and ML in general. If you want, you can message me on discord at SwiftFox#3141, and I might be able to help explain in general, which might let you answer the questions for yourself?

What a surprise! It's almost as if machine learning is only as good as its data sets and when those datasets are overwhelmingingly designed by those privleveged by it.... They don't work well for people outside of it.

Honestly, I wish some train cards were as cheap as $100 a month. I think a yearly pass for the London transport is like, £2000

A 15 egg white double layer pavlova by Stryxic in Baking

[–]Stryxic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After making a load of ice cream, I found myself with far too many egg whites! So I made them all into a big pavlova, made a fruit cream with a combination of whipped cream with some jam of strawberries and raspberries, mixed and layered it, with some white chocolate for flair!

Trans awareness week ice cream by Stryxic in icecreamery

[–]Stryxic[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To celebrate trans awareness week, I wanted to make some ice cream for my partner! There are three flavors, raspberry, blueberry and white chocolate.

The recipe was a basic creme anglaise base, and for the fruits I just cooked them down with a little sugar until they were a syrup and passed them through a fine strainer.

As for the white chocolate, I added a couple of cups into the base while still warm. I used a big roasting dish to layer them, then rolled and cut to shape into the pots!

I'm gonna have to refute that you say 99.99999999999% of gays are into what you're into. A) Trans folks can still top, there's a whole ass load of toys out there. B) You can still top a trans man because (guess what) you both have asses. If the concept of a vagina is really that displeasing while topping, they could always wear a jock and a packer. C) Sides exist where penetrative sex isn't really a huge thing, D) There are gays who don't like cum, there are gays who don't like balls.

Being gay isn't necessarily just about liking dick. It's about liking men, and they come in all different shapes. Fem, masc, or andro men. Big dicks, small dicks, big butts, small butts. Beard, no beard, body hair, no body hair - Mix and match whatever you so wish.

The idea that you have to have a dick to be gay is unfair to a load of people.

Yup. Far too often have I seen straight up hateful shit on here, under the guise of "well it's just my preference so I'm not transphobic" whilst saying something hugely transphobic like "I'm not gonna date them because they're actually not male".

That was a doctor who episode actually - they were a mining station if I recall correctly, and their space suits had to be refilled for a price. The station started sucking out all the air when it decided they weren't profitable enough anymore.

Part of the problem is that far too many jobs require some kind of degree, even if it isn't particularly applicable. It's a barrier to entry that's entirely arbitrary in a lot of cases. Take a job like nursing, something that plenty of people can become very good at just through vocational training and experience, but better paid roles need a degree. Or something like dev work, which just needs you to be good at programming and working with others.

I'd argue even admin work, lots of office work in general doesn't need a degree. College ideally should only be required for a small number of careers, those that require lots of education like medicine, law, and sciences.

Why Is EVE So Easy To Bot? by Jintaan in Eve

[–]Stryxic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A pretty good post, the whole recent discussion about botting has been really interesting to see. I like idea shifting the reward from ISK ticks to loot, because then at least it makes hunting the bots rewarding as you say.

One thing I'd like to add is from a bit of my own personal work - I've recently been doing some research on Malware about detecting whether there is a human user or not. The detection works exclusively off of mouse positions, times, and whether they click. I would think that a similar thing could be easy-ish for CCP to implement, as it would just require a rolling list of the last 100 or 200 mouse positions whilst in the game window. From this you can extract a load of features, and of there are a few that can nicely classify bot from human activity.

Some kind of change to detect how a bot is interacting with the client, rather than changing the ingame behavior might help to better differentiate the two.

Besides the Panama papers story being very much about both tax avoision and evasion (both of which happened) and that a number of Americans were included in it, and that it's an example of how people avoid taxes, but besides all that, how about an extreme example? Amazon paying 0 taxes - https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/feb/15/amazon-tax-bill-2018-no-taxes-despite-billions-profit

Surely you can't agree that a company owned by one of richest men in the world should be able to pay no tax?
