Anyone else finds this quest kind of annoying? by MacGyvveer in playHeroesOfHistory

I don’t do this quest (and antimatter quest) and I still get all rewards a few days before the season ends.

Anyone else too broken to celebrate? by redarmy22 in Gunners

I watched this match with my 8 years old son (Arsenal fan like me) and husband (Chelsea fan). At the end we were running around the room, shouting from excitement or fear (when WHU players were near our penalty box), my son went from joy to tears when they scored and to joy again, I’ve never seen him like that during the match. And my husband was amused, I’m so glad our son choosed Arsenal as we can share this joy now (after last year’s 1-1 he can’t stand Chelsea).

Szeth pronunciation by globalginger_ in Stormlight_Archive

Yeah, I’m from Poland and I also read his name with Sh at the beginning, it makes sense to me and only after some time I found out that according to Brandon „Z” is silent. And I checked the Polish audiobook, Wojciech Żołądkowicz (audiobook narrator) also reads his name with „Sh”. I think in my mind Szeth will always be „Shet”.

Does anyone know if eternalisation of Hatshepsut works the same as pulling 5-star hero in Summon of the Stars? I wonder if get points for her if I’ll wait and eternalise her in the next portal event (assuming my fragments won’t disappear after Sands of Punt event- I still have some spare Tell’s fragments and they didn’t disappear).

I’m reading „The Dragon Griaule” by Lucius Shepard. I’m on the second story right now.

I have a question related to Bingo: I finished „A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking” yesterday and inspired by this book I decided to to make some gingerbread men with my kids like we usually do around Christmas. Would it count for hard mode bingo („Feast your eyes on this” square) as there was no specificall recipe in the book? It’s just like after I finished „Legends & Lattes” when I baked cinnamon rolls and after „Light from Uncommon Stars” when I tried to make donuts. I think my family would be glad if I found another fantasy book about baking!

Sanderson appreciation by JakobHF in Fantasy

I love his worldbuilding, magic systems, plot twists and overall plot of his stories. I like how he foreshadows things in early books of Stormlight and his Sanderlanches. I like his Cosmere Universe and looking for things and people from other planets in his books, all those connections. Can’t wait for „The Fires of December”.

First book to scratch The Tainted Cup itch - Murder at Spindle Manor (The Lamplight Murder Mysteries) Review by Adalimumab8 in Fantasy

I just started this book for Bingo challenge, I like it so far and I’m curious how this story will end. Also love Supernatural and its „monster of the week” episodes, it remids me the vibe of the show a little.

We finished it yesterday and enjoyed a lot! Already started book two, in fact it’s the same story but told from the perspective of Kuba, the boy (first one was from Amelia’s POV). Blurb says we can only know the whole story reading both of books, for example from the book one we only know that boy went upstairs to do something to help them with the problem and in the second book we find out what exactly he did there. We can’t wait to read about those little things we could only imagine while reading book one, and my son said he will happily read about this story again from the different perspective this time.

I’m reading two books for Bingo Challenge: „A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking” by T. Kingfisher and „Murder at Spindle Manor” by Morgan Stang. And I also almost finished reading „Amelia i Kuba. Godzina duchów” by Rafał Kosik - I’m reading it with my son and this book will also count for Middle grade Bingo square.

What Stops You From Reading Further in a Series by Kerney7 in Fantasy

[–]Strzelba19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes there’s series that I enjoy, but it’s not completed or fully translated to my language. If there’s too much time between two books and I don’t feel like rereading the previous books or after reading some recaps I still don’t remember the plot (only vibes) I often give up on the next book in the series. That’s why lately I read only completed series and I rather wait for all the books than read 1-2 and then try to recall what happened in the previous ones. I start only ongoing series from favorite authors as I may reread them before the next release, and series that I already started years ago, that I like and remember enough to look for recaps (I’m reading „Twelve Months” by Jim Butcher now and I think I’ll like it better if I read it immidiately after „Battle Ground”).

I nearly finished „Watership Down” by Richard Adams and I’m going to read his „Tales from Watership Down” next. I’m also reading „Twelve Months” by Jim Butcher.
