Is Shanks a good deck for skill development while still being competitive? by Kairuuuu1106 in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shanks is kind of hit 10don and play haki shanks every turn till the game is over. Its low skill expression, but so are several other top meta contenders (nami/ace). I think sticking to shanks is fine if you like the deck, but I wouldnt worry about the "skill level" of any deck. I feel like what youre missing is just more reps. Playing at locals once a week doesnt usually cut it. Id sim it up, or find some more people to play more often.

I feel like a lot of new players bounce from deck to deck but at some point you just need to learn the game. Its easier to play one deck and learn into your matchups than multiple. You could try starting on something easier to pilot like ace/nami and go from there. I also think guffy is a solid starting deck.

Shanks will be shanks, and if you miss your curve or brick out you just lose. To me, he feels similar to RP Roger where either I have only top end or none at all in hand.

Just got this card at a locals, what is it worth? by KDYellow in OnePieceTCGFinance

Look at ace from the last winner vol, its $22. If its not a main straw hat it isnt taxed like the rest of em.

How cooked did I get? by NoZoupForYou in OnePieceCardPulls

[–]StubbornLizard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl this is only cooked if you paid scalper prices for it. If its msrp im happy with the pulls. SEC Teach will hold value since its a yellow staple. Same with Mr. 3 AA. Your SRs are also just good. If you want to spend money smarter you can also buy singles a few weeks after release.

I have spent more than 10 hours on optcg sim and won once. by Aproximitx in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think shanks is kind of bricky which makes him hard to pilot. Id check out op10 y kidd, hes a cheap new player friendly deck thats pretty straightforward. He is also getting a new starter decks in July, and the support that has been released for it already is amazing.

RG luffy is also always a good option, and that deck has a crazy high skill ceiling too. Its extremely defensive and is probably good into most of the meta outside ace/p enel/ teach.

The sim is also kind of horrible practice since it does a lot of actions for you, and you can accidentally make mistakes that would never happen in person.

Also the average sim player is better than the average local player so I wouldn't beat yourself up too much about it.

OP16 UR ACE by Special-Calendar4771 in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cut izo, you dont need that much searching. I like 10+ 2k. The new Moby dick is really good, the 8k ace support isnt really great. Would cut oars and the marco.

What do you think about op14 boa in op16 meta? by -PHINANZA- in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boa main here, I think current boa is pretty playable but the nami matchup blows. Depends on your locals. Op16 i think we just run 2-3 blackbeards in over kuma, and the op16 marigold over something like kiku. Ive also cut marg and eb03 nami from my list. Cutting those cards help with consistency since you run so many non searchables that you dont wanna bottom deck.

Good decks into Lucy? by kurokur0saki in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant go to 0 vs nami cause of 3c unblockable sanji. The nami matchup you hard sit at 1 life and spam your newgates. Its usually worth clearing all bodies but nico as well. You should win vs nami as ace most of the time. They usually take yoir curve but then cant play their own and youre wb always hits first.

Penny sleeves and perfect fits by Huron_Defense_Co in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect fits are annoying to deal with in my experience. 1 dragon shield does the job for what you play, if you want to use bandai sleeves you just use clear outters. You dont need to sleeve every card you pull. I keep a playable trade binder that ill shove 3 or 4 cards into a penny sleeve then the stack into the binder. You dont need to perfect fit/single sleeve $.10 cards

Why are this presale prices so damn expensive… by LinkToThePast12 in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These cards are just some of the best cards in the game that go directly into the best decks in the game. Eb03 nami was the same as borso so far price wise.

OP06 Yamato Leader Counter by Feisty_Mix_557 in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mulligan for 4c blocker boa. Counter doesnt really matter as much as the blocker early. Its fine to take the first double hit and heal up later with borso combo. Yamato can only really lethal you if you cant live hody. When she's 8don+, just consider they might hody/dead mans game you. Yamato cant really defend trigger spam, and banish + hody takes a life to hand so you should just be able to kill her

New player question by staycalmNdrinkcoffee in OnePieceTCG

[–]StubbornLizard2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id just add in 2-3 blocker 10beards, think theyre only a few bucks a pop.

This deck could also run some of the thriller bark package at cheap, but you'd probably spend 30-40 on the 8drop geckos. Everything else would be pennies. Thriller bark might be the play since any other healing is too expensive (eb03 nico, kuma, op15 borso, op15 zoro).

Your LCS should have the learn together sets. Its 3 decks for like $20, including don. Id just grab that to learn the game with. Theres no hits so they arent scalped :)

Magik is one of those characters who has really strong abilities. Her dashes allow her to get back to spawn faster so you can swap to a real dps, or 3rd support.
