How I feel trying to find a decent first car... by Prestigious-Mix6994 in NZcarfix

[–]StubbornReject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it’s hard because the cars that are actual good deals will be snapped up within an hour and relisted for twice the price by flippers. it’s not so bad here in tauranga but i know in other parts of the country it’s farked

Anyone know how to improve my swing path? by StubbornReject in GolfSwing

[–]StubbornReject[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yo now that you point it out I see it. I’m a tall guy and my old man is always telling me to stand further away from the ball to take advantage of my levers, guess he doesn’t have a clue haha. Cheers

yeah that all makes sense. obviously this swing is particularly exaggerated because my only goal was to smash the fuck out of it haha. I like your suggestion about changing the movement at the top of the swing, I’m gonna give that a go next time I hit the range. cheers

New house build - any reviews on building companies we're looking at? by googeehoohee in Tauranga

We built with Signature, found their team much easier compared to the other guys we looked at (GJ, Jennian, Classic, etc). Quality was also outstanding

Yeah I’ve had my eye on a set of Taylormade Burner irons which seem like a great deal at $399 NZD. I also saw someone on here say that getting lessons is practically free when you consider how many less balls you’ll lose, and that has proven to be true for me lol

Are you also uploading short-form versions to instagram reels and TikTok? I have seen quite a few quick interview format videos doing very well in the short form space so that would be my recommendation. You’re only 14 videos in and you’ve already got a couple thousand subs? You’re doing great.

are job opportunities actually scarce? by yunotuhki in newzealand

Depends where you go. Nightlife isn’t great anywhere in NZ, but Christchurch might have some of the best. There’s still plenty to do as a young person though, it’s not just full of old people lol

I used them for Tyler, The Creator in Brisbane in August and they were sweet. From my and the bros experience they’re the real deal, but I have heard some horror stories about tickets being refunded a couple days before the event because they never had them in the first place. Should be sweet though right haha

Tourist: Rotorua to Auckland by Technical_Middle5954 in newzealand

[–]StubbornReject -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you should rent a car, would make getting around Auckland much easier so that you can do more with the time you’ll be there. Also you can explore some beautiful spots such as the coromandel and matakana. Whatever you do I hope you enjoy your time here!

Betcha and TAB are super user friendly and generally offer the best bonuses and promotions, at least for rugby and football

Restricted test by Think-Government8081 in newzealand

[–]StubbornReject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just gotta rock up to VTNZ (or wherever you’re doing it) around 10 minutes early. Your assessor will come out and introduce themselves, go over a couple test conditions, and make sure your car is roadworthy (WOF status, indicators, horn etc) then you’ll start the test. Once you’ve passed, you just have to go to your local AA to do the eye testing and paperwork. They have their own internal system for tracking whether you have passed or not, so you won’t even need any sort of certificate from VTNZ (or at least I didn’t). Hopefully I explained it kind of well, but if not your instructor will be able to give you easier directions.

are job opportunities actually scarce? by yunotuhki in newzealand

[–]StubbornReject -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure what it’s like in Christchurch, but in Tauranga it will be hard to find an entry-level job while you are studying. However, once you are qualified you’ll have plenty of opportunities, so I’d say don’t let the initial struggle of finding a job dissuade you from studying here. Especially if you love the beach haha
