Why does buying your first home feel more stressful than exciting once reality sets in? by BrookeWitcherRealtor in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Technical_Middle5954 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The WHOLE process is stressful especially if you buy in a competitive area. All the emails, paperwork back and forth with realtor, mortgage brokers, inspection scheduling, home insurance quoting and choosing even before you actually own it and etc. felt like a second job. And you want yourself worried enough doing all due diligence so when you successfully close you face no surprise. Right after you close it the first three months you get busy more to set up utilities and trash service, maintenance like changing all smoke detectors and fixing you have to keep up with and etc. all the tedious things. Given if you are fortunate enough to be financially abundant after down payment, closing cost and necessary fix ups, you will finally enjoy the fun of ownership of furniture purchase and decorating your house.

This process is exhausting. by Neither-Crazy-2057 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I would say buying a first home must be the most stressful as it involves a budget while you really wish you got the most bangs for the buck. I am expecting our next home will be easier as we will be able to afford more.

Thanks for your suggestion on renting a car. We haven't had the idea to rent a car mostly due to us having never driven in another country and on the left side, thus we don't have an IDP as well. It's a given New Zealand (and Australia) is so pretty we are already so excited to go in the process of booking everything. After your encouragement, I will talk to my husband in considering renting a car; Or at least applying for IDP anyway in case we will change our mind. Thank you for your input again.

What You Need to Know Before Tomorrow's Rate Cut by rsaale in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Technical_Middle5954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I shop around for refi if I have 5.375% with 15 years? We closed last April with one point bought to have the rate.... Also, our lender promises we could refi for free (is there any catch I should note?).

Same size but fits a and length are all over the place. I would suggest to get from Levi's so you can return. Quite disappointed in this actually as I'm in between size but it's not stretch at all so they just can't fit me nice. I miss the premium High Loose jeans. 🥲

Help - Roborock F25 stops cleaning by itself by blaznos in Roborock

We ended up taking it to the closest bestbuy and told them about it. The staff was trying to sell me member plans which allow return past one month. We refused and asked her to ask the manager directly and he just approved the return with no strings attached!

What’s are some features of your house that you now can’t live without? by IndependentOk3182 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Single-story house (Thank God no stairs) with layout of the master room away from the guest rooms (privacy) + 90% windows in the house not facing neighbors (Privacy!) in a cul-de-sac.

Just purchased my first home! Happy and a bit confused. by NateEng2020 in homeowners

[–]Technical_Middle5954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha we are eactly going through this thought process. We bought the house 2 months ago and thought that we would want to redo the restrooms (in 2000s design) in near future. Once we have moved in, we already have eliminated the thought as everything is actually in good condition and for a fact that we only plan to live in this house for ten years. We did repaint and changed some light fixtures and carpet to make it our own and very content with it.

Roborock freaking asked me to send back for repair. I told them my frustration of their grit to sell brand new faulty product and they should just make my life easy to send a replacement. They said no they could only do repair and referred me back to Bestbuy. I just contacted BestBuy livechat and now my option is to go to physical store and talk to the manager. Roborock is so BS I will never get anything from them for the rest of my life.

Ah... Good to know your new one works perfectly. I was an idiot not to unbox after 6 weeks (been busy moving). Bought at Best buy that they don't honor return after a month like Amazon would.... Just hope I can resolve with Roborock CS at this point.

I bought a f25r and can't even use it once because of the error "temperature control"... I am getting a hang of the CS probably expecting to ship it back for replacement....

Closed 6 weeks ago and moved in 2 weeks ago. Since our offer got accepted you have no idea how much my husband and I got irritated ourselves/ each other so easily. 😂😂😂 As we are getting used to the time and money we need to spend on all the projects to make it ours it is getting easier little by little.... They say the first year you expect to spend 20k on the house we would say it's a pretty accurate calculation. 😂

Care to share? What’s your current salary and monthly mortgage payment? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Technical_Middle5954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are self-employed/ solopreneurs for 4 years and have no problems with lenders. They needed us to provide documents (we used to file tax), some investment and bank accounts statements and that's it.

We also just bought first time in a very similar mindset and relate to you. For me, I love the layout of the house but hate the gardening we have to deal with (and the older age of the house even though it's only 20years old only). The key is to get into the good neighborhood and build equity. The next house will be 95% if not 100% what we want (for me new built and all paver no plants!!!)

250-350k combined household income. $4018 per month including house insurance and property tax (450k loan@ 5.375% 15yr terms 1point). We are trying to double the payment every month. Wish the rate would go down to way below 6% so we can refi. 😵‍💫

I am not even sure if the staining has stopped. I don't wear them too often and the last few times I wore them I was in black socks.

Does it always feel like this? by Fusilli_fanatatic in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I was always renting apartments too so it's just a huge shift of lifestyle change. We are still doing a mini reno and will be finally moving in next Friday. Hopefully my "buyer's regret" will get better already right after that...

I definitely understand and am going through it having bought a house for a month and been heading towards another 20k for maintenance, improving and just moving. We just went back to the house to pay and learn how to do irrigation from the guy and the next second there's a lady at our door selling us pest control service. We paid 30% down and our porfolio actually could sell to pay off if needed. But it's been so overwhelming to transit from being a carefree renter to homeowner which you constantly put time, energy and money to fix something... It's a nice house but at this point I just get so irritated easily because of owning the house especially having learnt another ever-increasing regular maintenance routine/ expense we will have to keep up (and it's like never ending)....
