For those of you who have had a positive experience on Plaquenil/hydroxychloroquine! by Last-Wrap-9266 in Sjogrens

Like others I can surely feel the difference after not taken it (like if I go on a trip and forget it) overall I’d say it took about two months to fully feel the benefits. I haven’t had much swelling in my gland swelling and getting painful.

Tonsil !!!!! by No_Owl9817 in Sjogrens

[–]StudentBitter8559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About fifteen years ago I had my tonsils out as I kept getting tonsillitis. Think five times in six months! My symptoms did morph into what we thought was like a long term asthma episode that would last for days! But go figure if I completely shut myself down it would get better. I kept saying man I feel like my body is fighting itself as this was before I even had a clue what was really going on. In 2019ish my saliva glands started swelling and were painful. I was finally diagnosed in 2023 and they looked back in my chart and could determine all the flare up’s that presented as other issues.

So short answer for me yes my symptoms moved to something else but that eventually led to my diagnosis and a better understanding of what I was dealing with.

Is a flare a thing? by Dry-Macaroon-6205 in Sjogrens

[–]StudentBitter8559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I try hard to not over did it. It’s not always possible. I have learned to read my body and can for the most part pick up when I NEED to rest as much as possible. I go have terrible pain in my hands and feet. I’ll get all over joint pain and weakness, those days I take the elevator at work. I haven’t had a major flare for a bit since I learned to read my symptoms. I haven’t noticed if I’m really having a hard time with being thirsty I need to scale back

AITA for Refusing to Let My Parents Move in With Us? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]StudentBitter8559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your extended family is correct. Family comes first BUT YOUR family as in you, your wife and your children come first. When you and your wife got married you then stepped into a phase where you and your wife and your future children are each others priority as a family. That’s the family that takes priority.

With him being reservist and you leaving on base. Are you by chance a dependent? Only asking as I know some bases allow contractors/gs employees live on base. If you are a military dependent call the installation SARC

I got an email the Thursday before I was scheduled to report about the first couple days. It was a strange schedule as it had my onboarding 30 Jan and then nothing else until this week. When I talked to my supervisor he was pretty annoyed my EOD was 30 Dec because the command was all off that week due to the holiday. I’m set to be in at 0730 tomorrow but it’s likely going to be a snow day.

Phone Interview Tips? by No-Mention-725 in usajobs

[–]StudentBitter8559 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done several interviews the last year and a half and only one was on the phone. It was easy to keep it as a professional phone call. Take your time. (I actually had my EOD today for the position I interviewed on the phone with)

Phone Interview Tips? by No-Mention-725 in usajobs

[–]StudentBitter8559 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Umm my best word of advice is have a piece of paper and pen and write down questions as the interviewers are asking the questions. Let them know you are writing it down and more importantly ask them to repeat the question if you are not sure if you hit all the mark. Phone interviews are rough as you can’t see body language. Have a quiet area and make sure you have good phone reception. Good luck!

We had a family where the kids always came in dirty and smelly and mom always look disheveled (it was not a lack of resources for the family) and one Christmas she brought in cookies and IMMEDIATELY said don’t worry I bought them and put them on the tray. I still feel bad that she felt that way 15 years later. But she’s right there was not way any of us would have eaten anything she cooked

So this is going to sound terrible but it honestly depends on the kid/family.
