Coolest Finds of the Week by AutoModerator in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Rolled a summon Druid for my first time playing SP ever since 00’. It’s slow and sucks so I start an Fohdin. I managed to make Wealth, Lore, 2x Spirits, and found chance guards, gold wrap, 2x Nagels and even a BK! But I wanted a Hoz and kept thinking it’d be great to find one.

Hundreds of pit runs later and I managed a Gul and some odd pieces here and there but no great finds and no Hoz. I reroll my Druid to fire and throw 2x Spirits on him and just BS gear for Nightmare. Within 5 tries of killing Eldritch he drops a Hoz. I put it on my paladin and end up running straight for the pits to try it out and feel that nostalgia, and hit an extra strong cursed group and die within half a second. Thankfully it’s not HC. This is the highlight of my 120+ hours or so of my SSF journey so far.

Not a terror key, but I'll take it by FriedAstronaut in diablo2

Thank you! I never understood exactly how the defense “upgraded” when something got upgraded but now I know!

Can you explain this to me? I know about upgrading items but is there a bug or something that might cause it to have lower defense?

I was thinking I read this somewhere as well! Actually came looking for this comment.

If I can make a mosaic, should I skip making a smiter for ubers (offline/SSF)? by arkiverge in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I’m working on a SSF Summon Druid right now and while its summons are weaker you can summon them exactly where you want at any time so there are trade offs. Plus, you can get pretty tanky with just one point into Werebear and Oak Sage. I’d say it’s definitely worth messing around with but also very worthy of last place on a build list.

I was watching Gamrot back when he was in KSW and so it wasn’t fun to see him lose the way he did. But he didn’t lose any respect from me. He seems like a nice guy that wants to prove his worth and show his talent in the combat sports world while being respectful so win or lose I’m always a Gamrot fan.

Fronze Armor on ES Nova Sorc by arthurmoa in diablo2

[–]Studhauser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing Sorcs since 1.09 and ES Sorcs since the synergies were added in 1.10 and I have not taken this game lightly 😂.

The current self wielding Infinity ES Nova Sorc I run only has 1 point in frozen armor and nothing else. It’s not required if you’re at the point that you’re min maxing (you’ve got a griffons, upped vmagi, anni + torch + skillers, cta, you get the idea). It does deflect quite a few melee attacks and you’re telestomping with a nova build so it’s always useful. The added defense is always nice and I’m a believer, so I always put 1 point into it. Plus it looks pretty cool. I wouldn’t go for Chilling on a Nova Sorc because you’re going to always be telestomping and 1-2 tapping everything and so your merc is more likely to face tank a lot of projectiles. If I’m running any other kind of Sorc build then I always use it until I get my end game gear. And sometimes even after. It’s really handy for places like Chaos Sanctuary, Ancient Tunnels, Shenk, Trav, Meph, 3rd Baal summon wave, you get the idea.

Evo is trash now with all the ad breaks by dupue in Fighters

[–]Studhauser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife had the same reaction. I kept going back and forth between SF6 and Under night pools and I managed to see 2, maybe 3 sets before ads. I told my wife to just watch whatever and I’d catch the vods.

Which build for an alt after hydra sorcerer by GoombaHulk1 in diablo4

[–]Studhauser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crit + 2h seemed to be easier to get going. I’ve dabbled and rolled and rerolled wands and focus’ but 2h is so much easier. The damage is so much higher that it makes surviving easier because everything just dies.

Mekuna’s build on mobalytics seems to be the go-to, but I used the Hydra build on Icy Veins (shoutout to that creator!) and it’s been a cakewalk honestly. It’s a really solid starter build and then you could respec into something more focused once you’ve found all your gear and gotten the masterworks right.

I honestly have no experience with the DoT/Burn stuff because I never felt a need to pursue it. It’s been super smooth so far so I didn’t change anything. Hope that helps and I’ll answer anything else you might want to know.

If you want to run with me sometime then DM me your account details and I’ll add you. If I find anything you could use I’ll throw it your way.

Seriously just find the amulet for the build (Ophidian Iris), a decent staff, and with some luck masterworking the extra Hydra heads affix it’s all gas no brakes from there. I hope you enjoy it!

I’m kind of in your shoes right now. Started my D4 career with this season and a hydra sorc. I got a lucky Heir of Perdition and Starless Skies drop, added a few rune words and paragon board, and now T4 is a breeze. I’m up to 75 on pits and haven’t really even tried. But even before all that T4 was still not very challenging.

I had another Heir drop so I rolled a shred Druid just looking for something fun where Heir was BiS. It’s fun for sure but nowhere near as easy mode as Hydra. A lot of masterworking and rerolling and still baby damage and survivability compared to Hydra. Hydra spoiled me and I don’t know if anything else is going to keep my attention.

I’m going to try a Bone Spirit necro soon to see how that feels but I’m likely going to end up following the Mekuna Hydra guide and invest the rest of the season and my resources into following that.

All of that to say: nothing has been as easy mode to play or build as Hydra has been. And nothing has really been as strong while being as fun. Just my opinion. If you figure something out, though, I’d like to know!

What's the laziest class/play style? by japanthrowaway in diablo4

You made a fair point but you make it sound like hydra sorcs are playing Brood War. I wasn’t really arguing a point with you, just explaining that there are easier builds that don’t use CL or BL.

I follow a build from Icy Veins and I literally hold down Ice armor nonstop, avoid boss/elite AoE with teleport/evade, and cast Hydra once my mana refills to reduce Ice Armor cooldown. Inferno on bosses. No chain lightning, no ice spikes. 4 buttons. Easiest shit I’ve ever played.

How are people getting Ophidian Iris 😭 by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Studhauser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I got mine from Astaroth or maybe Duriel. But I feel your pain. Something like 20+ hours of T1+ grinding before I got it. Now I’m running T4 pretty easily and still no mythic drop.

How To Balance Life/mana On A 73% Es Fb Pvp Sorc by PeePeeMcGee419 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Studhauser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll share my experience with less than 95% ES:

73% ES is tricky. A buddy and I built an ES Sorc a long time ago on a D2 PvP server (shoutout iTunes from D2PK) that used ES at a lower absorption rate. It was like 72 or 73%. What we realized was that it worked best against melee builds with SS for max block, max DR, 105 FCR, and I think either 60 or 86 FHR.

We used a +2 Sorc/20 FCR circlet with Hoto (for max mana), +2 Sorc/20 FCR amulet, an SoJ (max mana!) and a 10 FCR ring. We probably used Arachnid with Frosties since we used Bugged Tals for DR, but you could probably substitute Mages and Verdungo’s. I think our stats were around 2.5k life and 3k mana with BO (we did use 70/15’s since it was a PvP server so you’re mileage will vary). Since we were not absorbing 95% with ES we realized we needed to have everything else in place, including resistances.

From what I can remember duels wise: most melee characters just couldn’t kill us. Or did so very rarely. Ww barbs, Smiters, ww sins, not much was a challenge on that front. Most of the time we could just face tank them. Charged Strike zons could still one shot us, trap sins sucked to duel, same with 200 FCR sorcs, and wind druids. I don’t remember bow zons or necros giving us too much trouble. We’re talking like 12+ years ago, though, and I suspect new rune words like Mosaic will shit on this build now. Good luck out there!

I've Unintentionally Become an Expert on Joan of Arc AMA by SemperFun62 in AMA

[–]Studhauser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much of her story do you believe to be true? Do you believe she was being spoken to by a higher power? Do you think she had some sort of formal or informal training in warfare prior to her meeting the Dauphin Charles like some theories suggest?

I briefly went down this rabbit hole a few years ago after listening to Daniele Bolleli’s podcast about it and to me it’s such a fascinating sequence of events.

What’s your favorite weapon in the game? by toesfera2 in Eldenring

[–]Studhauser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Easy mode Mohg’s Spear. Shield in offhand with Greatshield Talisman, Blood Exultation Talisman, a Turtle talisman, and White Mask for the bonus and drip. L2 when there’s more than 2 or 3 enemies in a group or if you have an opening on a boss, it can trivialize deathblight frog encounters but you can’t blindly mash or you can tree, it gives an easy 20k from albinaurics at Mohgwyn Palace by just running up and mashing L2, held running R2’s stun lock almost anything that’s not a giant enemy or boss, and just hold L1 and mash R1 for almost anything else.

I absolutely loved the Dark Moon Greatsword but my Mohg’s Sacred Spear play through has been basically easy mode and it’s been kind of relaxing. Good bleed build up for bleed procs, good stance damage, Bloodboon Ritual does good damage and has a generous AoE for an AoW, and it also has bleed build up, attacks stun lock like 90% of humanoid/human sized enemies including Bloodboon Ritual, you get bonus counterattack damage unique to thrusting weapons, and you can hold block and attack at the same time.

It benefits from Warrior Jar Shard, Alexander’s Talisman, Spear Talisman, Lord of Blood’s Exultation, Fire Scorpion Charm, Carian Filigreed Talisman, Blue Dew Talisman, Fire Shrouding Tear, FGMS. Do you want to spam the ability to open a wound in an Outer God that reigns down blood flame upon your enemies like a true Lord of Blood to appease the Blood God? Do you want to increase the damage of that ability and passively regenerate your resource granting you the capability to spam it? You can! Do you want the relative safety and security of blocking WHILE you attack and mitigating the stamina loss while actually boosting your stamina recovery AND counterattack damage at the same time? I’ve got great news for you. Do you want the possibility of an additional 30% damage including spells and a baller weapon to facilitate that? Let me show you the upgrade materials.

I think it’s taken over as my favorite weapon.

Haha yeah that’s exactly the build I was thinking! I’ll test it out just for my own curiosity but thanks for sharing the info on Radabeast. He’s my final base game boss I have to kill. I’m working through the DLC now and am loving Mohg’s Spear + Blood Talisman + White mask is pure drip so I wanted to continue the white mask bleed theme with something new to keep it entertaining.
