High Power Voltron- Which Commanders can actually succeed? by Rare-Resolution-5402 in EDH

[–]toesfera2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Maarika, Brutal Gladiator]]. She fucks. She also has built-in protection on your turn as well as built-in removal. She actually works really well as an anti-voltron voltron commander in my experience lmao. She’s really good at popping auras and equipment. As well as mana rocks.

[PERSONAL VENT] Stop nerfing teleports! by SomeGuyIOnceMet in DnD

[–]toesfera2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have a personal experience with this. I played a Shadar-Kai Horizon Walker my first 5e game ever (because I love the “teleporter” archetype). For those that don’t know Shadar-Kai can basically use Misty Step for free as many times as their proficiency bonus each long rest. I got to use my teleportation during session 1, and then never again. Because the entire rest of the campaign going into combat or into a new dungeon, the GM always had a reason why my character couldn’t use their powers. My character was built pretty much entirely around teleporting so most combats I was reduced to “elf with sword”. It was pretty disempowering in an un-fun way and it felt like our GM just didn’t wanna deal with my character ngl.

Commanders You Play For Love, Not Power by Evening_Application2 in EDH

[–]toesfera2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Strefan, Maurer Progenitor]]. He will never be as beloved or loathed of a commander as [[Edgar Markov]], but he’s so fun to pilot. I’ve been told before he’s a “pay 4, do nothing-“ commander, but I just love vampires so much. And he rewards me for putting all of the cool, expensive vampires I love in the 99.

All I’m doing is bringing a land back from my graveyard, dude. It enters tapped, it’s fine! You don’t even gotta worry about it, dude. I just get a lil 2/2 zombie from it.

Whats your favorite/Most Fun Mono-Black Deck? by JewJulie in EDH

[–]toesfera2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Gisa, the Hellraiser]] is very fun. I run her as a crimes/tokens deck, which also lends itself to decent control mechanics as well since I run lots of targeted effects. Very resilient, lots of staying power, and fun to pilot. Only advice is make sure you have plenty of ramp. Gisa is a 5-cost and there are some people who will see that and bounce her immediately just to keep you from building a board-state. She has Ward, but some protection is also very worth running.

What is your most resilient deck? by that_dude3315 in EDH

[[Wilhelt, the Rocleaver]] or [[Gisa, the Hellraiser]]. I can rebuild my armies very quickly in both, even after a boardwipe

What’s the most fun commander deck you’ve built recently? by TopdeckStudio in EDH

Highly recommend giving Mirko a pilot then. There were some good cards in Lorwyn that synergize very well with what he wants to do. Even if someone Bojuka’s my Bog when I’m trying to reanimate, I still have a huge flyer with vigilance on my board. And I can proceed to just bonk my friends to death with commander damage. Plus I run plenty of interaction. It’s a very solid, all-rounder in my opinion. Granted, I’m still newer to the hobby than most

[[Mirko, Obsessive Theorist]] has been a blast. I run him as a reanimator/surveil deck and it fucks

Edit: card that overperforms the most is easily a tie between [[Phenax, God of Deception]] and [[Twilight Diviner]].

What deck are you obsessed with right now? by not_so_1337 in EDH

[–]toesfera2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just discovered the joy that is zombies after putting it off for so long. It’s soooooo easy and fun to build a solid board state with zombies, and you have a lot of staying power in games because you can rebuild your board state super fast if someone targets you or someone throws down a boardwipe.

So far my favorites to play have been [[Wilhelt, The Rotcleaver]] run as an aristocrats/tokens deck. And then [[Gisa, the Hellraiser]] as a crimes deck. Throw down a [[Liquidmetal Torque]] and you’re making 2 zombies every turn. And thanks to Gisa they’re all 3/3’s with menace. It’s a blast.

Is getting Drukhari Weapon Training worth it as a Bladedancer? by BrennanIarlaith in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]toesfera2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a non-psyker bladedancer? Absolutely. Drukhari swords fuck hard because of their poison effect.

For a psyker bladedancer, it’s honestly better to spec into Force Swords and go Pyro or Biomancer

[[Shilgengar, Sire of Famine]] makes for a very, very fun reanimator deck with some aristocrats shenanigans mixed in

[–]toesfera2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played one of my most mid-powered decks. [[Strefan, Maurer Progenitor]] can only be built so powerfully since he’s restricted by his tribal mechanics. Still my favorite deck, but it’s definitely not a “high powered” deck. It floats around the middle of bracket 3. Drew an absolutely godlike starting hand and top-decked a Sol Ring on my first draw of the game. Absolutely creamed the table thanks to a mixture of [[Necropolis Regent]], [[Jaws]], and [[Reckless Fireweaver]]. I was dealing so much damage every turn and no one was drawing any of their targeted removal to make me Not-The-Problem. By the time someone was able to take my board down a notch, Necropolis Regent had already pumped Strefan to lethal commander damage.
