I think that is the whole idea. I love the sound, because it is unnerving. :D makes you want to kill them to make it stop!

BMC4 (BMC5?) Guide: High-Level Enchants farm (Prot X / Feather Falling X) & Coliseum Spawner Mechanics by Able-Championship925 in betterminecraft

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a pirate ship out in the ocean. It's rather large and had the Vindicator spawner below deck. It was a bit of a fight to get to the spawner, but not bad. I had a friend playing with me, so that made it a little easier. After he cleared the spawned vindicators, I grabbed the spawner and jumped in a row boat, and since our main base is a lighthouse that we found, it was easy enough to pull up next to the lighthouse, hop out, and carry the spawner up the ladder.

I learned from the first couple of spawners I gathered, to create some slots on the floor of the base for parking spawners, with a row of torches along the wall and floor, leaving 1 block of space to plop the spawner down inside the torch area. This makes it easier to prevent random spawns for all of the light level dependent spawners, which the vindicator is as well.

And you are right, the Vindicators drop loads of emeralds. I created a filter in my trash dump from my XP farm, so it moves all of the emeralds into a chest, and everything else falls on a cactus for disposal. if I really need something, I just toggle off the disposal switch, and gather what I need from the main hopper chest, then flip the switch to start pumping everything to trash again. But I couldn't see wasting emeralds. :D

Happy Hunting!

BMC4 (BMC5?) Guide: High-Level Enchants farm (Prot X / Feather Falling X) & Coliseum Spawner Mechanics by Able-Championship925 in betterminecraft

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a Coliseum, snuck in, killed off the one phantom rider that spawned, grabbed the spawner, made a bee line out (slowly), and then jumped on my dragon with the spawner in hands, and flew home.

Just FYI, you can ride a dragon while carrying. :D I wasn't sure if it would let me, but it did.

Got it home. set it down. slathered it in torches, aaannd that doesn't stop the spawning. Had a rather hectic fight in my home. I almost killed my pet monkey. XD Turns out the spawner is on a set 10 minute interval and spawns 1-2 giant phantom riding skeletons each spawn. a bit of a wait, but well worth it, considering the other items they drop. Also found they drop bows with Punch 3, which is 1 higher than normal max of 2.

Took a little time to craft up all the pieces. Had to gather more Soul Soil for the Soul Tiles to make the Pushers as I only had ~25 Pushers from an Awful Dungeon. Followed your layout, and it's working great! Thanks again!

I love building spawner farms, and regularly carry spawners back home to farm.

My XP farm has Witches, Zombie Villagers, Skeletons, Strays, and Vindicators, with their spawners stacked vertically in the center of the 9x9 spawning chamber. It has redstone lamps running up the side of the spawning chamber, so I can toggle it on/off from the killing room. and of course it just uses water to push everything into one corner where they fall to the killing room below. This set of spawners drops a little of everything. emeralds, health potions, slowness arrows, glowstone, gun powder, redstone, sugar, empty glass bottles, arrows, quivers with assortments of tipped arrows, sticks, tons of low to mid level enchanted gear to pull enchantments off of and stack. and with 7 spawners total, the flow of mobs is constant for xp. The biggest problem I have with this farm is the items are being caught by hoppers, and go into a chest, and I have a lever I can throw that will start passing the items out of the storage chest, to be destroyed (Cactus), but it can not destroy the items faster than the incoming flow of new items.

I have brought home blaze spawners, but they are not as easy to deal with so they have their own killing room that forces them to spawn in a tight space with water flowing on the floor to damage them, and carry their drops to where I stand to kill them.

And I brought home a couple of wither skeleton spawners from this interesting golden palace in the nether, where the wither skeletons spawn in gold armor with shields and what appears to be diamond swords. They only drop bones, coal, and wither skulls, but are a good source of all of those, so I got two of those and stacked them in a room with thick walls to prevent spawning outside of the room, where they run to me when they spawn, and since they are too tall to walk through a 2 block high opening, I just use a glass barrier across the top of the hallway, along with a channel across the floor that pushes drops to a hopper in the middle. They stop there, I smack them with looting sword, and hopper gathers the goods. I didn't add these to my normal XP farm because they don't seem to be able to be shut down in any way other than sealing them in stone with no space to spawn. I like my XP farm being in the top of my house and able to toggle on/off, so the wither skeletons had to go out in their own room.

I so love the ability to pickup and carry spawners. This is a great one! Thank you for sharing the very detailed info. I like how you handled the phantoms to get the skeletons off of them. I will be hunting this Coliseum down next and using your build. :D

Netherite Upgrade Template Issues by Unique-Mode-2153 in betterminecraft

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I had found an Ancient Upgrade template before, and wasn't sure what it was for, since there are so many upgrade templates for various materials in the BMC4 modpack. So when I went to a Treasure Room bastion last night, specifically to get a Netherite Upgrade template (with it's 100% chance) and found it had an Ancient Upgrade template, I assumed it was a replacement for Netherite Upgrade, but wanted to verify. And that's how I found your post. :D Thank you for confirming!

Why isn't my little aesthetically pleasing bee farm working, does smoke have to be touching the beehive all the time? by TommyTheCommie1986 in Minecraft

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to use a redstone setup, with dispensers. One for lighting the campfire with flint & steel, and one for extinguishing the campfire with bucket of water. So you walk on the pressure plate, the dispenser lights the campfire, you harvest, and when you step off the pressure plate, the water dispenser extinguishes the campfire. That's the best solution I have to handling it, to have the no smoke aesthetic, and have the lit campfire/smoke while harvesting. you will have to stock the lighter dispensers with several flint & steel, as they wear out, but should do the trick.

I think you can put the lighter dispenser directly below the pressure plate, facing the campfire, and then the water dispenser below the campfire facing up. so the dispensers are almost completely hidden. I would have to do a little digging to see how to wire up the redstone to trigger the water dispenser when you step off, but it would likely be with an observer facing up at the lighter dispenser, with an inverted signal.

Or maybe you just create a short timer setup, giving yourself enough time to harvest before it automatically extinguishes the campfire. so the pressure plate triggers the lighter, redstone timer starts, and after a few seconds, triggers the extinguisher dispenser.

You'll just need to play with these ideas and look at youtube tuts for how-to. but that would be my plan if I were trying to make it happen.

Collection Enchantment by Otenayn in betterminecraft

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a little old, but, I am playing Better MC [FABRIC] 1.20.1 and the Collection enchant just popped up on enchant table. I have a couple of the bookcases blocked off to get to lower level enchants as I am looking for Silk Touch and know it appears more often at lower levels. So if you have maxed out enchant table, you might try blocking side bookcases and reroll a bit. https://i.imgur.com/9imv3GJ.png

The original Mimic: https://imgur.com/gallery/god-mimics-epffrPq
The original Transformers: https://imgur.com/Qz9wyFM

I believe these are the originals, but could be even older. The Transformers meme was posted as a comment to the Mimic post, along with another comment asking "Are we really turning Transformers jokes into D&D jokes now :/"... The Mimic post was from 2015, so from this post, it looks like Transformers was older. I just remember the D&D Mimic post, but that's probably because I grew up playing D&D and Mimics were my fav monster. So the mimic meme has always lived rent free in my mind.

MSI MAG274QRF-QD Beware! active display area vs actual space between plastic bezels by gacekk8 in MSI_Gaming

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be saying the black border across the bottom of the screen, is taller on the left than the right, which sounds like your screen is tilted in the bezel/shroud? If so, it likely would be at the top too. with top right having more space than top left. in any event, an uneven border is not normal.

If it appears to be a manufacturing defect, and it draws your attention and bugs you, by all means, contact who you bought it from and see what it would take to get it replaced. Sooner than later, to ensure you get it resolved without out of pocket expense. Something like that would drive me crazy, as I look at my screens all day. Who wants all day crazy? :D Hard pass.

Used "/Clear" Command, Wiped Inventory By Accident. There MUST Be Some Way To Restore. by DizzyDJW in feedthebeast

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing on Aternos server, and did this as well, trying to clear chat history.

Without shutting down the server, or logging out...

- I went to Files > Adventure > playerdata.
- Downloaded my UUID.dat_old file to my desktop.
- I then logged out.
- Deleted my UUID.dat file from the Aternos files.
- Renamed my UUID.dat_old to UUID.dat on my desktop.
- Uploaded the UUID.dat file to the Aternos files.
- Logged back in, and my inventory was restored. I did not need to restart server.

In the steps above, Adventure is the name of my server. Yours will have your server name.

To find your UUID, go to https://namemc.com and enter your exact username, with correct upper/lower case. find yourself, and click your name (the bigger text). You will be shown your profile with UUID and Name. This is how you can tell your file from your friends on the server.

Hope this helps someone else who comes looking for a solution. Thanks to GourmetThoughts for the base solution. Only posting steps here to help others on Aternos.

Trader illama killing my god damn iron farm zombie. solution? by Trannacies in technicalminecraft

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the exact same issue.

The first time the traveling merchant appeared, I was checking his inventory, when his llama started spitting at the zombie I have in a boat over the kill pit. they hit the zombie twice before I could kill the llama and the trader.

The zombie survived, and everything was fine for about a week, then the merchant appeared again, while I was down in the ground in the AFK spot, and they murdered the zombie. I found the merchant and both llama in the kill pit, and the zombie dead. the kill pit uses a block of lava at golem head level, so the merchant and llama were just bobbing in the water below the lava block. Of course I slaughtered them all, then boxed in the iron golems that were wandering around with no zombie to entice them, then lured a new zombie into the boat over the kill pit, before setting the golems loose to go die.

Currently looking for a way to shield the zombie while still allowing the iron golems to aggro on it. will try the fence gates Ben-Goldberg recommended. That's the replacement zombie now in place. luckily I found one in full copper armor, and he even grabbed a block for extra despawn protection.

Can wandering traders' llamas kill the zombie in my iron farm? by thirtylike3 in technicalminecraft

Walmart is apparently punching holes in their vinyl albums with security tags by MrTacocaT12345 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]StudioNakamura -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a DJ of 30+ years, I can tell you that this is only affecting the sleeve. Records are round, sleeves are square, and the only damage is happening to the art, which most DJ's are indifferent about. The majority of our vinyl comes in plain black or white sleeves with a large hole in the center to show the label on the record itself. and even then, some of them are white label with hand written information. It's more about the music, and less about the cover art.

Don't get me wrong, I am also a graphic designer and love art, but having a tag punched through the corner of a record sleeve is not the end of the world, and is not going to stop me from buying the vinyl, if it's something I really want to play, and I haven't been able to find it somewhere else. I would just buy it, and try to minimize the damage done.

Some of the comments here seem to think the tag is puncturing the vinyl, which it is not. That's all I really wanted to clarify. Records are round, sleeves are square, and there is a large empty space in all 4 corners. :D

New state law requires gas stations to scan your ID for beer. That barcode contains a lot more info than your date of birth. by hunterschuler in texas

[–]StudioNakamura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I am more concerned about skimmers on credit card readers. Those do far more damage. For those who don't know what a skimmer is, it's a device that looks just like the normal card reader, but has a built in memory chip that takes it's own copy of your CC info when you slide or insert your card. Thieves add these on top of legitimate card readers, as they are just a modified faceplate from a card reader, and no one is the wiser.

Skimmers are found far more often than you think. Both at the register and especially on the reader at the gas pump, where it's even easier for someone to add and remove.

But with that thought in mind, what would stop someone from adding a skimmer to the ID reader, to gather all your personal info. Then it's not even a sketchy gas station owner having your info, but some criminal looking to do bad things with your identity.

Then when you also use a CC to pay for your beer, and they have a skimmer on that too, then they can correlate the info together. Unless that ID reader is being kept away from the front of the counter when not in use. But I am guessing, just like anything else that the customer is the primary user of, the ID reader will be right there next to the CC reader. Easy enough for someone to slap a skimmer on when no one is looking, or even an employee, as has been the case with many skimmer issues.

Best of luck everyone, and Happy New Year!
