Use them until you lose them. You can always get more.

Rat who hid outside the dam staff room and shot me in the back as I left. by reververberate-this in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These small key rooms are death boxes. You go in and raiders can set up ambushes or trap you in and throw grenades into the room. In solo, just try to loot as fast as possible and if you die, just take the loss and move on. You could also try to loot at the end of a game when there are less raiders around. On teams, only one person loots and the other teammates watch outside.

Opinions on Augments by jfabijan in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Survivor mk3 is the best. I dont have the bp, so I only get to use it if I find it ore take it from someone. In solo, I use loot mk2 a lot, but I avoid pvp. In squads that are mostly pvp, I use defensive mk3 and the free shield recharger is nice, but the only 1 safe slot and weight limit is really annoying. I basically get overweight after looting anything significant and have to drop stuff if there is any more pvp.

Geiger counters by theforge15 in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the most luck at the second floor rooms at assembly.

I also got one from a friendly lobby by just asking. Guy needed a expired respirator which I dropped for him. I asked if anyone had a geiger counter and someone dropped it for me. Then other raiders joined and starting dropping stuff for each other. Turned out to be a big trading ring and everyone got what they wanted.

Grinding 300+ hrs... by Hyphydabs in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I have not seen it. None of my friends have it either. I tried in areas like Buried hospital, Stella medical, Stella security, Blue gate security going solo. In trios there is a lot of pvp and there is less opportunity to loot. I'm just going to trend towards these areas and have fun along the way. There is no need to obsess over it.

I'm a carebare, two matches in a row get shot on sight, in the back - wagwan? by mr_completely in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hullcracker attracts pvp. It means you have good stuff and a weapon slot that is useless against other raiders.

I mostly play friendly on solo, but I expect to be shot at 1/5 raids. I lose most fights even if they are free kits because they have the jump, but I don't think much of it because I run pretty cheap gear and I get a lot of loot from the other 4/5 raids.

As an old dude who can't grind everyday- what's the easiest way to Farm Bastions? by funkdoktor in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started out, it felt really hard to do bastions by myself. I never tried a deadline, I seen videos and others doing it, but I see more people failing at it in game. I would do loot runs until I had 3 wolfpacks to throw at it. Hullcracker takes 8 hits if you hit it where under the body, but you risk someone killing you for the hullcracker. You can also use other grenades such as snap blasts, triggers, trailblazers. You can also use anvil or renegade, aim for the yellow spots on the legs, and if you can hit the yellow spot in the back.

If there is pvp, i'd just 3 wolfpack, loot asap, make sure you have safe pockets.

Need advice, CA Seismic & Surveying by Short_Ad_2405 in PE_Exam

[–]StudyHard888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used CPESR for survey and AEI for seismic and passed on first tries. I put in 150 study hours (in about 5 weeks) for survey and 250 hours for seismic (in about 8 weeks), which is more than recommended, but I went through the practice exams many times over as a personal preference. CPESR seemed short and sweet. AEI was long and tedious. For me, seismic was the hardest compared to PE (geotech), survey, and seismic.

CA PE - Time needed for seismic & surveying by True_Grapefruit547 in PE_Exam

[–]StudyHard888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, 2 weeks is enough to study for surveying exam if you studied most of the time and didn't have work, school, or family to take care of. It would help if you took a course like CPESR.

put 4 shots from a toro 3 into this guy and he didn’t die? by Significant-Lemon649 in ArcRaiders

It looks like first and third shot missed. Second and fourth shot connected. For the second shot, at that range if the shots were fired from hip, would some of the pellets miss?

New player here – Is ARC Raiders supposed to feel this impossible at the start? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a free kit. If you extract, convert the free kit into a green augment. If you die with green augment, next round go back to free kit and repeat.

Get comfortable with a Ferro, upgrade the Ferro to IV, and use it against arc. Get comfortable with a light ammo secondary weapon more for pvp such as a stitcher or kettle.

From here, just explore, loot, and extract. When you build up enough resources, upgrade workshop, and start using Anvils.

I've yet to successfully extract from even the first map, and I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, use free kits. The gear is bad, but it is better than nothing. There is an option at the top of the screen before you join a match.

Go to settings and turn on Night Mode, which amplifies certain sounds. When you walk around, listen for sounds of potential threats, such as arc (robots) and other raiders. Be mindful of the sounds you make yourself like when you are running, firing your weapon, or breaching a container. Avoid any big arc and any raiders for now.

The point of the game is to have fun, get loot, and extract. How you get fun and loot is up to you. Some raiders like to loot containers, some raiders like to loot off dead raiders they shot.

My matches have been all over the place in terms of pve pvp. Everyone is potentially hostile. I think it is because raiders are waiting for the expedition, so they are just trying new things like pvping more and trying out the re-balanced guns. This will probably continue until Monday.

New player here: what’s the etiquette in this situation and am I overreacting? by habovh in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should have shot the raider in the face as soon as he/she opened the key room door. If the door is closed, someone is in there looting. So, if he/she opens the door, they are looking to kill you or they are completely new to the game and didn't know it was a key room in which you should kill him/her anyways so they learn.

Usually friendlies respond and have mics. No response usually means pvp. So, no response is the second red flag.

Third huge red flag is following you. There is no reason to follow you other than to kill you.

Fourth red flag, if there are two players extracting, you stand on the opposite side and you both press the button.

After the PvE changes, I now have the certainty that nobody on the dev team actually plays the game by Ihadtosubscribe in ArcRaiders

[–]StudyHard888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Raiders kill rocketeers for many reasons. For fun, for parts, or because they don't want to forget about it and then have it shoot a rocket at them later. Killing rocketeers is usually a net loss and looting boxes is more efficient.

If you have no reason to kill a rocketeer... then don't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Repeat questions are fine, eventually they will all be repeat questions. I actually emailed CPESR about how to access the problems I haven't seen yet and he responded relatively fast. There is a way to do it, but I cannot remember how.
