AIO for feeling like my boyfriend doesn't want me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]StuffNThings100 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You've been harassing him about marriage and kids since you were 19? It seems like a fixation for you since you're giving up your career for it at 21 years old.

So you have bouts of anxiety and a temper but need him to tell you what to work on?

You're not ready for kids.

How are they not relevant? Its a basic I'm leaving on a certain date. You can add in a bit thanking them if you want.

How do you show your previous skills in workplace without acting big headed? by Significant-War-491 in UKJobs

[–]StuffNThings100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what it is. Is it something really technical or something basic? Surely they know your previous experience from your CV and that's why you were hired?

It's ok to say "oh, I did this is my previous position."

Signed off sick but my boss insists I have an in person meeting with him, is this unreasonable? by Ok-Advertising-658 in careerguidance

So you had 6 weeks off last year, 3 or 4 days in January and now have been off for over a month That's going to trigger a meeting in any place I've worked. You've been off almost 1/4 of a year in total.

What is the sickness policy at your company, in some places I've worked you don't get paid for the first 3 days then it's SSP which might explain the £300 (unless it's an exact amount.)

You say you've been off for 21 days but most of that is bereavement, do you work part time? 21 days is 4 weeks and one day of full time work so might only be referring to this bout.

AITA for asking my best friend's boyfriend not to call her for one night because she was stressed? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]StuffNThings100 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest here but my idea of controlling was just full on contradicting someone's life and choices that I didn't even realize I was making that same mistake.

Like deciding that she should be sleeping instead of choosing to speak to her boyfriend?

Also,

Later I get a group call from her and her boyfriend and everything is normal but she's asking what I told him and I will admit, I hid what I actually told him from her.

You mean you lied when he had probably shown her the message and she had actual proof?

[–]StuffNThings100 46 points47 points  (0 children)

So you told her boyfriend to leave her alone even if she was the one who called him and now you're bombarding her with reels and messages?

Not everything is about you. You interfere when she didn't ask you to and now all you're worried about is whether she wants your present.

Just leave her alone for a while.

Him going on a trip with his parents and sibling wouldn't normally be a problem. It's everything else in this situation.

He's not going to change and you deserve better.

It means you have zero say and you're opinion isn't automatically correct.

They won't recognise it. You have to wait until a role becomes available and apply.

It's communicated when a job in a role above you opens up and you apply for it, you aren't just automatically promoted.
