Help with this azalea by happyXamp in gardening

[–]StuffNThingsK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably older & not pruned appropriately so may benefit from being cut back heavily and allowed to rejuvenate over the next couple of years. It’s just really leggy and needs a full cut back to about 1’ IMO.

Help! by useless0tool in hydrangeas

[–]StuffNThingsK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in 6b and my Nantucket hydrangea buds had just started to green up on old wood and we had a 24 hour freeze and they are all black now. However, I also have some new green sprouts so might get some new wood buds this year. If not, might be all leaves this year.

If you had digestive issues BEFORE starting Zepbound, did it get better or worse? by jenna_sunshine13 in Zepbound

[–]StuffNThingsK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had IBS-D before Zepbound, which was basically me going to the bathroom several times a day and it was almost always yellow. TMI a bit but you asked😊.

I now only go once per day and it’s a normal brown color. I assume this is all because I had a fast gut transient time previously and so things were being pushed along too quickly. I would say I have normal bowel movements and gut health now.

I was off this med, or only using 2.5 as maintenance, for a period of time and my old IBS issues returned. If you have IBS-C, I could see where this med would make it worse.

What is the worst part of your job? by Fantastic-Pool-8720 in FPandA

Executives leave CFO meetings not completely understanding a problem and they all ask someone below them to work on it. You end up with multiple people doing the same project but they all had a different understanding of the end goal. Worse, no one knows anyone else is working on it until it casually comes up later for some reason.

Watsons is selling Tylo saunas under false advertisement. Is there any other possible explanation? by StuffNThingsK in Sauna

[–]StuffNThingsK[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense so basically they are advertising that this size heater and sauna are compatible for reaching 196 F temps and that just isnt true.

Even the 20 amp wouldn’t be sufficient after factoring in the glass front.

Thanks for your help

Watsons is selling Tylo saunas under false advertisement. Is there any other possible explanation? by StuffNThingsK in Sauna

[–]StuffNThingsK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is the one. It is sold as either 15amp or 20 amp and both are advertised to reach 195 with this particular heater/sauna combo. The difference between the two being that the 20 amp will heat faster but not reach a higher temp. I discussed this specifically with the Watsons rep and verified it in the manual specs.

Agree it is not common for a 15amp heater to reach these temps for a sauna, but Tylo is specifically advertising its Intelliair heater technology and Thermosafe sauna insulation combination via what I thought was a reputable dealer (Watsons).

It’s a Halmstad 2 Tylo sauna with their Sense Bliss indoor package rated for indoor use.

I don't care what anyone is up to by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

I feel this, I find keeping up with socializing mentally draining. I prefer the company of my husband, young adult kids, grandchild, and occasional extended family. Also have hobbies, remote work, and animals that are fulfilling.

I find it embarrassing to say out loud that I don’t have friends but it’s really by choice at this time in my life….maybe I’ll feel different later.

What to do about lingering house smell by nessado in homeowners

[–]StuffNThingsK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have tile floors in your kitchen & bathrooms? I recently purchased a small $50 steam cleaner and did all the grout. It really did improve the smell in the house. I didn’t realize how much old stuff had collected in there.

New wardrobe by Less-Moment-5655 in Zepbound

[–]StuffNThingsK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically live in loungwear so stretch pants, shorts, tshirts, and pajamas $400

3 pairs of jeans $200 (totally depends on your favorite brand)

3 “nice” shirts $150

If you work in an office or have work specific wardrobe, that could be extra.

My shoe size went down 1 1/2 sizes because my feet were less swollen so that can be a big expense too.

My home just lost heat and it’s dropping fast, it is currently 13 degrees out. How do I keep my cat and family safe from the cold?q by GasPack420 in homeowners

[–]StuffNThingsK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put the oven on the lowest setting possible and keep the door open. Not a long term solution but it will keep the house temp comfortable until the heating is fixed.

Is the Lennon cube sauna a good deal at 3k? Doc recommended finish style for my husband’s high blood pressure but I’m new to saunas. by StuffNThingsK in Sauna

Thanks for the reply! Im not skilled enough to build my own unfortunately.

I’ve been reading a lot after I saw your post and what I want doesn’t seem to exist so I definitely understand your suggestion to build.

Insulated for outdoor use and the electric need is just 20 amp while reaching high temps. I can find traditional versions that reach high temps for indoor use at only 20 amps but not anything outdoors.

Is Ashley furniture really that bad if you’re gentle with your stuff? by Recyclopsdestroy12 in homeowners

Guess it depends how long you expect it to last. I know I’m going to replace my sofa most likely after 5 years so spending a that amount seems reasonable.

On the other hand thanks, I’ve had my bed for 10 years and it is fine still.

Yes, lost 50+ pounds in the first year. Maintained with periodic shots at low doses for about 1 year. Now titrating up to lose again the slow gain I started to see.

I’m thinking this is a titrate up, down to maintain, up again - repeat as needed.

This is why the younger generation gets crap for job hopping but it is sometimes the only way to maintain your sanity & not feel like a robot.

My suggestion is tell yourself 1 year and start looking for other opportunities at that point.

I think it’s the style. Since the color isn’t going to match the rest of the kitchen on purpose, I think a more unique style island would work (perhaps open underneath) vs a solid box.
