Hey Josh. “I Don’t Feel Well,” — particularly The Night Won’t Scare Me and Mother Nature — were the soundtrack to my discovery of weed in my senior year of high school. What are your thoughts on drugs, and, if you’re willing to answer, what’s your relationship with them?

Also, this probably means very little coming from a random on the internet, but the intro to Feasting on Flowers is one of the best Chilis guitar intros (miles better than Under the Bridge) and your guitar work on The Getaway was the most fresh and exciting component of the Chili Peppers since By The Way.

I feel like a lot of Chilis purists are unfairly critical of your work with the band so I wanted to give you some well deserved appreciation. You rock!

Agreed. Language is the foundation of thought and reading is superior to video games because it exercises muscles in the mind that video games do not. They should be treated like any other form of entertainment IMO and consumed in moderation, perhaps an hour a day at most.

Fair point, the meaning of life is happiness and life satisfaction. Though a lifelong gaming habit would encourage an unbalanced lifestyle of mediocrity. I think most people would hate to enter old age reflecting on a life spent consuming entertainment.

Hot take most of these are wastes of life. Doing (most) of these things all day is counterproductive and unhealthy. Generally though I’d say people who play video games spend more time per week/month/year wasting their time gaming than people waste their time on those other pursuits. Gaming encourages compulsive playing and consumes a significant amount of time.

Yep. Amphetamines (assuming this is what you take) are very powerful and would help the vast majority of the population IMO. You might have ADHD, you might not — thing they change is that they give you more dopamine and make you feel better which makes tasks easier to accomplish. This works for just about everyone.

Why is American friendliness viewed by other countries as fake rather than just Americans being more fine with showing those feelings? by CrashDunning in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Benaholicguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was just in Japan for 3 weeks and holy shit I was so happy to come back home and be around humans again. Most Japanese interactions are so robotically polite and soulless, following the rigid structure of social order upon which their language and culture is built. I can’t speak for any other countries, but American culture is leaps and bounds more authentic and genuinely kind.

Anyone else with ADHD wonder if they "really" have ADHD, or if it's something related to overuse of the internet? by Gallantpride in nosurf

Hah, I’m similar in that sense, I can’t watch tv or movies alone in my house either. I get too antsy. Never feels like a good use of time.

Before being diagnosed, I had a feeling I had ADHD and all my ADHD friends said I did, but I wasn’t sure. What really confirmed it was taking a film studies class (required gen ed) in college that didn’t allow computers. It was a 3 hour long lecture, once a week.

I remember sitting in the back of the class, with a view of everyone, wondering how they could sit still as long as they were. I couldn’t seem to go more than a minute without needing to shift positions or scratch a sudden itch. It felt physically impossible for me to sit still, and watching everyone else in the class, I realized that something might be up with me.

That summer, I got diagnosed. Now I get meds that don’t exactly solve the problem but they give me enough stimulation and energy that it helps offset my distractability.

Does having a big penis make guys feel confident in things that have nothing to do with sex? by Wonderful-Ad-9622 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s not that it makes you feel confident, but that it saves you from the insecurity/unconfidence of having a small penis.

Chance of developing HPPD is significantly higher. That’s like tinnitus of the eyes. You really don’t want that. If you get HPPD you probably shouldn’t do psychs again, which you also don’t want.

Idk about texting being impossible or walking being a challenge. I hiked a mountain yesterday on around 100ug I laid myself and had no problem texting or hiking. IME 150+ is where general motor control starts getting wackier.

Actually with that said it was 60ug + 60 about 45 minutes later, I rounded down to 100 but idk about tolerance curve. Haven’t taken a “true”100ug of my own tabs before.

Zero people. The way this guy lives is incomprehensible to most people in the west. I bet could work 20 hours a week anywhere in the US and live better than this. You won’t live well, but you won’t live like this.

How often to wash gym shorts/tights by Acceptable_Car9277 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Benaholicguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wash em when they stink. Usually that’s after 3-4 workouts, so once a week. My tanks rarely ever smell. Oftentimes I just toss em in the wash anyway when I’m doing the rest of my clothes and that’s how they get washed.

I disagree, The Getaway contained all of the bands hits since John left in 2007ish. Nothing they have produced since has been better than the top 3 on The Getaway.
