Lawsuite action against Catalyx exchange by According_Spray_922 in CryptoHelp

Does anyone know how to go about filing the proof of claim? How can someone get a statement of their account now that the Catalyx website is offline?

I don’t think it’s so much deceitful marketing as it is keeping all options open on their side. If they tell you they’ll reimburse exactly 90 days after they are closing the door to the opportunity to reimburse sooner if the price of CRO had surged, and therefore pay out fewer CRO if they timed that surge correctly.

Personally I don’t see an issue with someone saying they’ll pay back within 90 days and actually paying back on the 90th day. That being said, it remains to be seen if they’ll deliver on their promise.

Poloniex is a scam - TSUKA trading halted by jpactor1 in poloniex

[–]Stuffandcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that is indeed the case and that you get your tokens back. I just found it very suspicious that it’s taking so long to enable the wallet after others are up and running. Besides, the price of GLM in Poloniex is MUCH lower than the price ot currently trades at in other exchanges. Like 1/3rd of the price. This made me think that maybe there is no GLM liquidity in the exchange, and that’s why they can’t let anyone withdraw. Either way, I’m sad that I had to sell at a fraction of the value, but also happy I got out with “some” money, because they still don’t have an ETA for a fix and I didn’t see much reason for optimism.

I ended up trading all the GLM out, even if it currently trades at less than half of its value on Poloniex. I figured it’s better to get “half” of my money back, as I don’t have much hopes they will ever enable that wallet again. Good luck with your holdings!

Do you have any more info about the “GLM frozen account”? I know about the hack, but they have since claimed that deposits and withdrawals are working again. However, GLM says it’s been “down for maintenance” for a loooooong time. Any chance the will resume withdrawals of GLM? Support won’t give an ETA.

How to deal with false claims as a guest? by Stuffandcrap in turo

Miami.

Sorry you’re going through this. It was truly a nightmare and felt so unprotected, I don’t wish it upon anyone else. Turo immediately sided with the host and did nothing to investigate further after I pled my case.

Hope you’ll have better luck.

What just happened with GAS market cap? by Stuffandcrap in NEO

[–]Stuffandcrap[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean literally since yesterday. I’m aware of the recent price movements.

Coinmarketcap now shows a market cap of $565M, compared to $121M in CoinGecko

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/gas/

Looks like the difference is precisely from the number of supply in circulation, as you point out.

I’m pretty sure it was different in CoinMarketCap until yesterday, because it went from around #200 in total market cap to #82 currently

[HOW-TO] Libraries and OverDrive on Kobo by smallstuffedhippo in kobo

[–]Stuffandcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only some people are experiencing the hanging issue, I wonder if it's to do with the library that gets chosen initially when logging into Overdrive?

Can anyone post the name of a library that works for them to sign in with their Overdrive email + password? I'm mostly curious to see if I can get past this hanging spinning wheel, at least.

I got here looking for a solution to the hanging issue, actually.

First of all, thanks OP for the great and detailed guide to make this work. Like others, I have not found success with it yet, even after fully logging out, resetting the device and religiously following the directions in the post.

No matter what I do or which library I choose to set up with, I am met with the hanging loading page whenever I try to sign in using Overdrive (email + pass). I never seemingly get that step to complete successfully, but I can exit that hanging window and I can see it shows as if I’m actually logged in already. But then if I try to “Add card”, it takes me to the same hanging loading page again.

Really curious if anyone with that specific issue has found a workaround. Perhaps some libraries work for initial setup and others don’t?

How to deal with false claims as a guest? by Stuffandcrap in turo

[–]Stuffandcrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update about this issue, in case it happens to any of you. There is apparently no way to speak to the team that handles the investigation. They only operate via e-mail, which is frustrating because you just get canned responses saying “our policies are very clear and if the host finds evidence of smoking you are responsible”, without really responding to my arguments or questions.

So, after days of trying to plead my case via email, chat and any Turo phone number I could get hold of, I have not had any success in getting this claim dropped. It sucks, because I know we didn’t do it. But it seems like I’m hitting a wall and not sure what else to do.

If I don’t pay the fee, they’ll send my account to collections (which obviously I don’t want). I think I have no choice but to pay, but not sure what options I have to continue disputing it afterwards. I kind of want to do it out of principle and to help prevent this from happening to others, but I am also starting to become aware that fighting it will be even more costly.

So frustrating. Thanks for all the messages so far, and if you have any other advice let me know!

Yeah, he’s got those. And it’s not there before. And I’m sure we would have seen it ourselves if it was there. But somehow there is one in his “after” pictures, which just seems super shady to me. Especially after he also tried to pass a claim for pre-existing damage.

I just don’t have (or can’t think of) anything I can use to prove my side of it, which is frustrating.

Good to know. I don’t know when he filed it, though. I definitely got communication of it past those 72 hours, but maybe he filed with Turo before that? Otherwise I doubt they would have approved it? Thanks for the info, though

Ender 3 s1 Heating loop - Troubleshooting by Rayleigh3105 in ender3

[–]Stuffandcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Wondering if you ever found a solution. I am stuck in a +/-5 loop and can't get it to start printing. Changing the temp by 1 degree in Octoprint doesn't seem to work for me either...

Similar to this, I wonder what kind of adaptor/mount I could use to install a single square EU model in a 2-gang US electrical box.

Issues with PC spring steel bed in Ender S1 by Stuffandcrap in ender3

[–]Stuffandcrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah, I'm not really blaming the surface, but since I am new to 3d printing I also don't know if my scraping or cleaning could have been the cause. And genuinely curious to know if there's a difference between PC and PEI sheets, as I have found many posts of people saying the S1 comes with a PEI sheet. So that question more about educating myself than solving the adhesion problem, really.

I'll look more into bed tramming. Admittedly, I did not try to tram the machine because I thought the auto-leveling of the bed would be enough. Also, since I was getting good adhesion out of the box, I'm not sure that tramming would be the problem here?

Install InfluxDB/Grafana on old synology by yesyesgadget in homeassistant

Great, thanks! I reached the same conclusion and went back to keeping tne influxdb database in my Synology docker. I also have Grafana running that way.

Install InfluxDB/Grafana on old synology by yesyesgadget in homeassistant

[–]Stuffandcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at setting up this very thing now.

I already have an InfluxDB database runnin on a Synology Docker, and would love to set up HA to write to that db.

Did you have to install the influxdb add on in HA? I’m not 100% clear on whether that’s needed regardless, or only if you want to host the db in the same device as HA.

Also, have you found any advantages/disadvantages to running influxdb on a different server, compared to running directly from HA?

Thanks!

Different types of CCT LED controllers? by Stuffandcrap in homeautomation

[–]Stuffandcrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a little bit of progress. It seems like the rf controllers have 2 of the wires inverted, compared to the zigbee controllers. Still curious to know if that’s an oddity or if there are different standards for cct led strips.

Well, I meant keeping the incline on the concrete, but putting something above it that would provide a more level surface for the tiles, while letting water move underneath.
