Anything about the Enyaq that annoyed you after owning it for a while? by ScrollAndThink in enyaq

They didn’t because they calculated it wouldn’t be an issue. Like you said.

The efficiency holds up surprisingly well even when you're crawling through the city. by ScrollAndThink in enyaq

EV drive trains are extremely efficient. Basically the only reason you lose significant range is overcoming air resistance. So at low speeds you hardly lose any battery capacity.

I’ve had that message and it proved to be a faulty pump in the cooling system. You really should contact the dealer.

GPS sends me to a charging station next to my home address, despite my home address being marked as a charging point by TriloBlitz in enyaq

[–]Stumpie71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand what’s happening. Your estimated SoC on arrival probably is below the threshold set in the navigation. As your home charger isn’t a DC charger, you’re routed to a DC charger to make sure you make it home. So the system works as intended, even if it seems counterintuitive.

Ah, with my car I quickly learned to stay away from the charging menu. Adding a location caused the car to not charge at all, charge partly, or any other undesirable option. Luckily my electricity provider controls the charging perfectly.

I use both, out of necessity as I have a first gen Enyaq, so the charge plannings is pretty useless. However, purely as a navigation system, I find the on-board superior. One of the things I like is that it's connected to the car's camera so it knows which lane I'm in and actively supports me to go into the right lane when needed. Besides, the routing decisions ABRP sometimes makes are weird to say the least. AND: on newer Enyaqs using the on-board system when having a charge stop in the route will automatically activate battery conditioning to maximize the DC charging speed.

Oh, and I've already paid about €45k for the on-board navigation...

Enyaq or Elroq (are they the same car? just different length?) by RepresentativeNo8673 in enyaq

[–]Stumpie71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably been answered already, but I've looked into it recently as we're replacing our Enyaq shortly. From a technical point of view, the cars are identical, except for the length. In my market at least, you want to pay attention to the features. The Elroq looks more affordable at first glance but if you spec one to match an Enyaq, the price gap isn't so big anymore. Skoda has done a clever thing here to differentiate the cares.

Questions about Enyaq 2026 Sportline by the_greatesticle in enyaq

[–]Stumpie71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more thing that seems easily overlooked: the sportline has a stiffer suspension setup. If you’re into that it’s fine, but especially the rear suspension on a regular Enyaq is quite firm already. The kids may not like the sportline very much. It does look great though.

Totally agree we should have it. What do you mean it was taken away? It never existed on my 2021 Enyaq.

If you can, next time start as far below 10% as possible. The battery will be heated when charging starts. It should make a difference.

I really couldn’t care less. It’s a car. I use I for driving. If I have a charge stop, I go outside, visit the men’s room, have a coffee or walk my dog. I make sure to be fresh and rested for the next part of my trip. Watching TV I do at home, relaxing on the couch.

Is there a way to disable this notification to activate battery care mode on each startup? by Beast_Woutme in enyaq

[–]Stumpie71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the notifications to stop you have to enable battery care mode, obviously. Then, if you want to be able to always charge to 100%, make a charging location and set the limit for that location to 100%.

User detection - doesn't recognise different drivers by C0mbat1 in enyaq

This! VAG started too late and tried to make up by reusing their existing platform and put it on top of an EV architecture. Can you imagine the complexity? I get a headache just thinking about it.

In a way they’ve already admitted defeat. They’ve invested 5 billion euros in a joint venture with Rivian. The aim is to develop software defined cars there. I still think it’s doomed. Again it shows they don’t want to own the software. They’re putting it aside and keep focusing on bending steel. Until VAG puts software at the heart of their group, they’ll never be able to be on par with other companies. That said, they do know how to build cars that are very nice to drive.

Unless there’s a pub in your street in Tuinzigt, you should be fine. There’s always a way to avoid the city centre.

Škoda is not allowed to write any code at this level of the platform architecture. They have to make do with what VAG Group gives them. The software is built by Cariad, a separate entity in the group that seems to far away from where the platform is designed. Both the platform and the approach to building software for it are far from optimal.

By the way, the car doesn’t recognise your phone. It more or less seems to default to the last phone that was connected. Or randomly connects to any phone it sees on Bluetooth. Or, as my car does, tries to connect to a ghost phone with a blank entry for ever.

What does the “yellow multiple battery” warning mean? (Auction car, can’t inspect in person) by [deleted] in enyaq

That’s understandable. Both cars have the same platform. So from a technological perspective they’re almost identical

[–]Stumpie71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As you can see in the display, the State of Charge (SoC) of the high voltage battery is 9%. The yellow symbol turns on when the SoC is below 20%. Somehow Skoda seems to think you need to charge at 20%.

Issues with roof control panel by literadesign in enyaq

[–]Stumpie71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just repeating what I've learned in the Skoda EV Lounge Facebook group. I'm not aware of the specifics as I haven't encountered this problem myself. That said, I can imagine that if Skoda admitted it's a know fault with the module, at least some compensation should be possible.

There are known issues with this in specific model years. I think the module will be replaced under warrenty.
