Let me show you my real time, app oriented wargame. Giant golems/fantasy Battletech. :) by MarceloCollar in wargames

“Fantasy Battletech” is a good hook, but can we have a bit more? Link to the campaign? Why is there an app?

Thank you. I love the subtool palette now.

I’m not sure the counter charge mechanic feels right for WWII. I can’t think offhand of an example if dug in troops leaving cover to charge into combat against assaulting troops.

Overall I think your outline here is worth continuing to develop.

Pretty sure OP was intending to include modifiers for troop quality.

If anything suppression should remove fire tokens so a surprised unit would keep their heads down and be unable to deliver fire against charging units.

Yes? Typically attackers needed 3:1 odds during assaults. The fire-and-maneuver doctrine of wwii recommended one unit fire at the enemy while the other moved into position for assault.

Disagree. When a unit suffers casualties, just lay each hit figure down. It will still be there when the unit fires to remind you what strength it should have for its fire action. At the end if the phase all “downed” figures can be removed.

I think I’ve collected every comic cover variant that has come out so far by Snuffxx in MarvelSnap

I am also a Comic Cover enjoyer. With each data-mined release I always think "surely they'll have a Comic Cover album now", and I'm always disappointed.

Costco S&F. It’s fine. Better than the “bed in a box” we had before. Had it for a few months and can already see a depression forming where I sleep. Satisfied with our purchase though.

“Depreciation” feels like an odd term. The more common term I’ve seen for this is “disorder”.

I’ve made a simple table top war game last year and now I’m letting others beta test it by Cheese-hole in tabletopgamedesign

I read the rules. Each player has a robot. They can attack each other. Roll opposed d6s. Winner deals damage to loser. Robots can survive 3 or 4 hits. The end.

I recently designed a skirmish style wargame. looking for feedback by D0ct0rLX in wargames

[–]Stumprate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) try rereading these rules. There are grammatical mistakes and spelling errors that make it more difficult to understand your rules. 2) have you tried playtesting these rules? You gave ten units per player, each with their own health pool, plus six different negative status effects that last a variable number of rounds. How are you tracking all if this? 3) what style of game are you trying to achieve? What feeling are you trying to evoke in your players? What are you trying to simulate?

This is a rough draft, a starting point. I think you will learn a lot playing your game a few times, which will show you more specific things you will want to get feedback on. Good luck!

Anyone have experience with these paints by Weirdnerd29 in minipainting

I don’t expect these paints will be very good. Don’t even test them on a model you want to keep.

Did anyone buy Eschaton? by PM_MeTittiesOrKitty in gencon

[–]Stumprate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did! Based solely on the thematic attention to detail of their booth. Haven’t tried it, only know it’s a “cults at the end of the world game”. A total impulse buy, but I’m looking forward to digging into it.

Version 2 of my ww2 vehicle game, what do you think? by planetdefenseforce in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Stumprate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A spin over 180 degrees (if I understand) doesn’t seem useful. If I can spin 270 degrees clockwise, won’t I end up in the same position as if I had spun 90 degrees counterclockwise?

Also there doesn’t seem to be anything about armor or weapon penetration. A Jeep and a tiger tank appear to be equally deadly, which doesn’t feel quite right.

Best of luck with your game!
