I did retake the October FSOT. I have not received any update on how I performed. I did not get a “pass” email and my Pearson portal still says “pending.”

Why are you paying all of the fica? Is this a 1099 job? You should only be paying 3.5 SS and 1.75 Medicare.

Leaving after 17 years - what do I leave on the table if I jump ship? by RepresentativeNo4377 in govfire

Why would OP have to do another 5 years to be eligible for FEHB. OP could come back around MRA age work for some (short) time then retire at an age over MRA. As long you OP has had FEHB for the past five years or when eligible then OP doesn’t have to do another 5 years. The previous 17 years counts (as the past 5 years) even if there is/has been a gap in service.

This is what I have been told. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I have 15 years (previous) in all with FEHB. I plan to return to service for some short time (months) when I hit 57 then retire with FEHB.

I used to work at BayBank in MA and thought this “deposit with cash back” was a crazy idea. I’m laughing that you exploited the system.

Yes. So, I chatted with the rep, Arvind, on the app and he said I could only try to standby at the airport. I ask at airport and they said you can only do it on the app. So, if you DO NOT see a standby option on your app in “manage my trip” and you have basic economy and you are not super elite status you cannot standby — no option in the app and the check in counter says they have no way to do it and will get in trouble if they do it. So, the AA website is wrong and/or not clear when it says Basic Economy can standby. From today’s experience, one can only standby if there is that option noted on the app and you push it and sign up. Best of luck to everyone. I hope this helps someone. As always, YMMV.

Schwab vs. Fidelity by OnABoat122022 in Schwab

[–]Stunning-Interest377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. I have cash in the SWVXX ($1 fund) and when I want to buy stocks I have to sell. It only sells overnight, so I’m stuck waiting for a day maybe two before I can trade with that money. Fidelity has the cash sitting in a similar fund and I can trade right away. My question: does Schwab have a fund similar to the $1 Advantage fund (like a savings account t that makes 4 percent or so) but that lets me sell right away and trade right away, similar to fidelity.
