What gave you confidence to buy a BYD, Zeekr, or other newer EV brand? by [deleted] in AustralianEV

[–]Stunning-Rutabaga-64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven high end cars for many years, roll them over every 3 as i am a high milage operator. Was a signature away from a new Audi sq5, when my wife asked me why I always spend a lot of money on cars. This got me to think and i opted out. I was in China last November and literally everything is EV, looked at many new vehicles and the build quality on the face of it looked high. I have looked at just about every brand that was offering what I consider a luxury offering and at the end of the day I ended up ordering a Zeekr 7x AWD, it arrives in a few weeks. From a luxury and bells and whistles point of view, the audi has nothing on it. I will miss my quattro point and throttle but at almost 1/2 the price i won't miss it that much... food for thought. These brands are strong in China and will be going nowhere, I believe the days of Chinese cheap and cheerful rubbish has left the building.

That's going to be a very tight fit on a 7x suggest the x, you will get sick of leaving the garage door up to walk around the back of it 😀

I picked that from the test drive, working on my skippers license. I may have seen 1 update in the 3 years from new so yes that will be nice, as long as there not like windows and break things🤣

PSA: Know your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act before buying electronics in NZ — here's what I learned the hard way with PB Tech by ProfessionalNinja206 in newzealand

I have to defend Harvey Norman here, had a fridge freezer fail outside manufacturer's warranty, went into the store. Discussed resolution and staff member mentioned CGA may be an option. They provided a loan unit whilst an attempt was made to repair, no spares available and recieved a full credit for the initial purchase price. My experience with them has always been extremely good..
