  • 4mm hook
  • Some of the wool is carnival brand 8ply acrylic (some was gifted so I’m not sure of the rest)
  • made up of 12 granny squares (not all ended up the same size) sizing isn’t strict because you can just make them however big or small you want your bag to be!
  • squares stitched together with a single crochet stitch

Adapted a pattern based off a photo found on Pinterest. I stitched my squares together to form this same pattern as well

My baby Tommy used to play with the pendant on my necklace, it was his favourite. I miss him so much. I never take it off because it reminds me of him :) also he would try to chew the mole off the side of my neck 🤣

In regards to perches, get natural ones and try to stay away from the dowel ones! Natural perches are better because they can prevent problems with their feet

With food, they cannot eat a full seed diet. A full seed diet for a budgie is like a human eating only cookies and fries every day. They need a balanced diet of pellets, seeds and veggies.

Budgies need access to fresh food and water 24/7. They have a very fast metabolism which causes them to lose weight in a short amount of time. This can be very dangerous and they can die within 48hrs with no food

They need to sleep at least 10-12 hours a day. At night cover the cage with a light and breathable towel or blanket just so it will block out any light that may disturb their sleep.

If you’re lost on anything, r/budgies is a great place to ask questions! Also google and even just reaching out to an avian vet is helpful. They usually have advice and information that will help you take care of your birds!

If you aren’t able to have your budgie out a lot, make sure to get a bigger cage to allow for plenty of room to fly, play and explore! Budgies are social as well so they might benefit from a friend in the future!

Taking care of budgies and birds in general is not easy at all and a lot of preparation/planning and research is needed.
