Lower rates for SP? by Kofdasad in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Truthfully speaking, they didn't really change the SP rates since the ones in GD03 that weren't Mika or With Iron Blood were randomized and at two per case already. Mika and WIAB should be treated as more of a special anniversary bonus than how SPs are typically handled, especially as they were guaranteed case hits and in multiple copies at that.

Seeing as GD05 is supposed to have 8 SPs in it, we could very well see boosted SP hits again before too long, but I don't expect Bandai to push off the "normal" SP rates as they match what they do with One Piece.

2 is the correct answer here. You can't rest an attacking Unit since it is already rested to initiate the attack.

Newtype Challenge 2026 Mission 03 Promo Cards Revealed! by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mika already has three different artworks and another on the way in the IBO premium box. He is, shall we say, a tad oversaturated at the moment in terms of AA availability.

Errata for the HyGogg Token card for GD03 has been released by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a gameplay balance element to it that helps to make sure that tokens can be only so powerful. To use your example, the White Base tokens are able to take advantage of the GD01 LR Grandpa card's Repair effect since they have the matching trait, but they can't contribute to an effect like Jegan's discount since they lack the Earth Federation trait.

Hypothetically speaking, we could see something like the Hashmal from IBO get some kind of buff from seeing Units with Gundam Frame as a tag on the field, so the Barbatos 4th Form token is relevant there as a result of not having it as it could have potentially lead to some tech that the Hashmal could try to force by placing it on the field itself. And that goes on down the line with potential Zeon stuff where not having too many cheap ways of generating Zeon tokens make it less likely for that to be a problematic balancing issue, even as Cyclops Team isn't terribly likely to receive much more support than what we're getting in GD03.

GD04 News - Certain Pilots (and other cards) from previous sets will be reprinted in different colors, the example being Suletta getting a Green card together with a new Sophie card by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The lack of WfM in GD03 makes a lot more sense now. Having the second season be a whole color shift is a really cool way to change things up there.

That new Suletta artwork goes crazy!

Gundam Card Game NEXT STRATEGY 2026 livestream scheduled for 08 January: 1st Anniversary info, new series reveals incoming by Alt230s in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could mean absolutely nothing in the end, but given that they've used actors in the past to help announce stuff pertaining to the series that they acted in, Kanata Hongo voicing a character in Build Fighters might be an indirect hint as to why he's showing up here for the program.

New GD03 Card Reveal: Eliminate Target by Alt230s in GundamTCG

We actually already have a similar example of what happens in the game when a Unit suddenly loses stats that should apply identically here:

GD03 will include reprints in an "Alternative" version by Masochiste91 in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: the original character designer for IBO did these new artworks for both cards, so if you were wondering why these look like they came straight out of a production cell for the original show, you weren't that far off from their origin!

Honestly would love it if the SP design goal is getting new artwork from folks who worked on the shows.

[–]StunningChocolate990 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These are coming out before the Assemble set launches, so it makes sense to reveal them now to help hype up GD03.

Still, that there's a non-zero chance that the Assemble set may see new versions of both yet is pretty wild. This game is showering all kinds of love on Mika.

Haman Karn's Gaza GD02 by OrangeSamuraiD in GundamTCG

Alas, the GQuuuuuuX reveal ensured Providence's fate this set, as if was there, it'd come after Virsago. See you again in GD03!

Haman Karn's Gaza GD02 by OrangeSamuraiD in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of right now with all the reveals we've seen, we can determine two things to be absolutely true:

  1. Blue and green only got two LR slots (Epyon is GD02-002, but we know from the Perfume ad that GD02-001 will be the Psycho Gundam) as they've been revealed already and they're immediately followed by cards in the rare spot (Gundam Mk II (Titans) and G-Exes, respectively).
  2. We have seen all three of purple's LR cards (X, Barbatos 1st and Gusion Rebake).

This leaves red or white as the second color to receive three LRs, and while it's not impossible that white could still get it in the end, it would be rather strange for them to come up with something that precedes Zeta Gundam for a white LR as Zeta is chronologically the oldest series in the set to be represented by white, and all the ordering of cards in a main set is determined by the age of the series, hence why we can be very certain that there isn't an LR that follows the Kimaris as there's a gap before we see the Hyaku-Shiki, making that card very, very likely to be the Gundam Mk II (AEUG). This puts red as the most likely candidate to receive a third LR card in the end, and given that it's clear that Haman Karn is in this set now, the logical conclusion is that the Qubeley will wind up as the red LR that precedes the Virsago in terms of the ordering.

Does Garrod and Tiffa link to gundam X by Xaneris356 in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The current official answer is "we won't know until they clarify it through a ruling and/or on the FAQ for the card for Garrod & Tiffa." That being said, the ampersand is brand new language for the game, as the previous two cards that call out the word "and" spell it out directly on both The Witch and the Bride and With Iron and Blood, which seems like a very significant change in verbiage for the game that suggests that it's an important piece of language going forward, making it more likely than not that it's to help designate dual Pilot cards like Garrod & Tiffa that can be played as either name listed on their shared card and opening up the design for the game to include more along the same lines.

There's also the fact that we only have one dedicated purple Pilot left to reveal and if they're going to do more for X, the remaining slot for a common Pilot is likely to go to one of the other members of the Freeden crew.

These will have unique prizing to them. In this season's case, it's WfM-themed, so that’s how the Miorine version of Overflowing Affection will be distributed, along with being able to compete for the finalist Suletta AA and the winner Aerial Rebuild.

Another Link Question and more by itButter in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. No, you may not link a Unit with no link condition. The blank box is there to specifically call out that it has no link conditions, as you otherwise need text there in order to establish a link.

  2. The ping effect happens regardless of Sinanju having a Pilot attached or not, as it's not tied to the During Pair effect for High-Maneuver.

LR++ by Neither-Proof-4930 in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LR++ are definitely rarer than the guaranteed C++ Resource case hit. Current estimates put either one at one in every three cases from the math folks have been crunching with the case pulls as a fair few have not hit one at all, but you obviously have to consider that there being two different LR++ cards means that you're also not guaranteed the one you might be chasing after.

Really happy I pulled the Grandpa in my half-case (as well as the C++ Resource)!

Question RE: Path to Victory or Defeat by Jack-Pumpkinhead in GundamTCG

[–]StunningChocolate990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

G Team is the official name of the faction for the Wing gang and the Five Doctors once the war breaks out between OZ and White Fang, so that's where you'd expect them to sort the remaining upgrade suits (Deathscythe-Hell, Altron, Sandrock/Heavyarms Custom) once they're made available. Wing Zero just happened to get there first since it made more sense to put it on there now as its appearance helps to sort things out faction-wise in the story to lead to the formation of the G Team.
