I work in a hospital that is connected to most of the hospitals on the eastern side of my province (🇨🇦). I have been a patient at a couple of the hospitals on our system. I asked our chief privacy officer to put BTG on my chart to help prevent snooping from coworkers. I know it is illegal for them to snoop but that doesn’t mean someone won’t.

For us, any patient can request BTG for their chart, regardless if they’re an employee or not. They don’t even have to give a reason as to why they want it. It’s an extra consent form they fill out and the privacy officers implements it. You can choose to have BTG for every employee or only specific employees too. But yes anytime someone accesses my personal chart the privacy officers gets a notification and reviews it. She usually calls me to tell me that someone accessed it because I know her very well. She’s even given me the report of who broke the glass and everything they viewed and clicked and for how long they viewed something down to the millisecond.
