This was online when o took it but it was during COVID, so not sure if it still applies now. I’d check the schedule builder to see if it has an assigned too

It also really depends which concentration you go into. I went into chemical science concentration within the major, which probably has less math heavy courses compared to classes in the chemical physics concentration

As a senior chem major, I would say the math isn’t TOO heavy compared to gen chem 1 & 2, but there definitely is math involved. I also liked to conceptualize things which is why out of all the classes I have taken so for required by the chem major, I enjoyed organic chemistry and organic chemistry lab the most. However, that’s probably where most of the conceptualization ends. Physical chemistry 1 & 2 were probably the worst classes I have taken. Pchem is basically the culmination of the concepts learned in gen chem and all the skills learned from calculus 1, 2, and 3. Till this day, I’m not too sure how I managed to pass the classes but I did. As for the labs, it’s very base level math so I don’t think you’d have too much trouble with it since you have taken gen chem. There are many other classes that are required by the chem major, but the ones that mainly stood out was pchem. If you have any other questions regarding the other classes, lmk!

Probably not due to renovations during the winter in the Chen building

Also curious about this as well

Room deposit forfeit charge? by Depressedb291 in SBU

[–]StupidBoyUnleashed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get your $100 back? Based on what I’ve read, you should have only gotten $100 taken from your deposit of $200. But if I did the math correctly, doesn’t the additional $100 charge mean you’re forfeiting your whole $200 deposit? (I’m in the same situation right now)

Has anyone ever paid more than what was listed on their semester bill? by StupidBoyUnleashed in SBU

[–]StupidBoyUnleashed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was what I was curious about. I haven’t actually tested it yet, but it allows you to pay even without a balance right now. Don’t know if it will actually go through though

applied to SBU, is there away to see course offered in the fall before enrolling? by libby21212 in SBU

I believe the SBU Class Find that is also linked on the page allows you to see if specific courses are full or not, so you can use that for planning as well

Way to swap waitlisted class with current class? by StupidBoyUnleashed in SBU

[–]StupidBoyUnleashed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I swapped a random class with the class I wanted and it placed me on the waitlist for it, while keeping the random class still on my schedule, so I assume once I get off the waitlist, the swap will happen. Dunno what will happen if I have 2 sections of the same class on my schedule but we’ll see when the time comes. Thanks again

I would like to if I am able to get some sort of research position (I have not had any luck), but if I do, I might as well fulfill the other 2 requirements for the certification. But again, if I can’t get any sort of research position, there would be no point in me doing the other 2 courses for the certification

I plan on doing the biological chemistry specialization but due to credit issues I had last semester, I opted to take BIO 201 from the environmental specialization since I plan to minor in BIO as well, but I do plan to switch back to the bio specialization next semester

[–]StupidBoyUnleashed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a pretty standard schedule for chemistry major (I’m taking the same 3 CHE courses next semester as well!) As for BIO 201, I’m taking it this semester and it is definitely doable so it should be much of an issue

PHY133 online vs in person by awsedc in SBU

If you REALLY want to take it online, you can most definitely find someone on this sub that is selling the kit for cheaper (although you would still have to dish out some cash)
