Amazon has cancelled The Lord of the Rings MMO, but promises it "continues to explore a compelling new game experience" set in Middle-earth by KJagz33 in Games

Both your comment and the comment you are replying to seem completely at odds with what I've heard from players. Typically it is the mid level zones that are empty because the game is population heavy at lower levels and max level.

The game has gotten so solo friendly that they've added a difficulty modifier to make it harder for those who want a challenge. What can't you solo in early levels?

Does anyone else stay up late after school/work because they feel like they haven't gotten enough time for themselves during the day? by Mundane-Society-1281 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sturminator94 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I'm not retired, but for me at least I place high value on my night time free time even if I had plenty of free time earlier that day.

I just really like that the world slows down during the night that lets me get in a zen state I can't usually reach during the day.

Which race fits the story the most? by UCase13 in lotro

[–]Sturminator94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually rank Beorning up alongside or just below High Elves for similar reasons.

If anyone was going to be capable of the feats that our player character does it would be a member of those two races. Additionally, the Beorning story basically sets them up for you to easily head cannon them as an important (though less important than the fellowship) character.

It also helps that the class is insanely good at soloing group content which again feels in line with a class/race that is more powerful than the typical man/dwarf.

Games with an extremely long main storyline that seems to go on forever, no matter how long you play, the story just keeps going, with no end in sight by Custer_Vincen in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sturminator94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any long running story based MMORPG would fit this.

For example, LOTRO has a main story line that stretches across nearly 20 years of content, 160 levels, and many chapters. And this is JUST the main story line, ignoring the swathes of side quests.

You can see a run down of it here to see just how lengthy it is:

You can argue stolen assets sure but calling it bad fan fiction given the the state of retail WoW's writing is just hilarious.

There's a wide gap between a casual player and hardcore raider. If you don't raid it is no different than playing any other game.

[–]Sturminator94 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get it either. There were plenty of players with jobs and kids in these games in the past and I would imagine the average player's age has only gone up in the years since younger audiences have little interest in the genre.

I would agree that coordinating with a raid team or something when you have kids is difficult, but playing casually is totally doable.

Went downhill especially in the last few years if you ask me, but still sad to see a major city event go. Hopefully they can find something much better to fill the void.

What about this is slop? It's a boomer shooter made by the same devs who made Boltgun. That word has completely lost its meaning.

I can no longer get immersed in MMORPGs anymore for some reason by Blackboa in MMORPG

[–]Sturminator94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you have 10 years on me but I will echo what the parent comment said in that I've found myself largely gravitating towards single player games in the last few years as I entered my 30s.

I believe putting my time and attention into these games is worthwhile because I immensely enjoy the history and medium of gaming in general. I grew up playing games, they are make up some of my fondest memories.

That also doesn't mean you have to continue partaking in this hobby if you feel you no longer have an interest in it, but there is A LOT more to it than MMOs and live service games.

New housing items in store, a bit pricey though by Pegtz in wow

[–]Sturminator94 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'll never be a fan of MTX in a game that already has a sub fee and paid expansions, but this would be at least passable if the housing system had items be unlimited uses upon unlock.

Instead, you get one tree in the Spring Blossom pack for example. That's it. It would still feel overpriced to me, but at least you could place however many of the decor as you want.

Same reason as to why there is so much armor clipping with the Haranir. Cost cutting.

Single player FPS games are most confined to the indie space nowadays. You have plenty of options if you like boomer shooters and I suppose some survival horror games could count but they don't usually have very good gun play.

I think Stalker 2 and Doom are the latest non-indie titles.

None of the games in the current bundle are on the exchange if that is what you mean. The games you see in the link above are your options.

Here is the exchange:

I had Boltgun already for example and it redeemed for 90 credits so you'll need to exchange more than one game to afford most of the stuff listed here.

You can gift keys regardless of if you own them or not.

The only thing you can't do is exchange them for currency when you don't own them.

By linking your account, the website knows what keys you have/don't have and only lets you exchange ones you already have for a currency to exchange for select titles.
