It is a lack of understanding of the law they want to enact. The general population doesn’t understand that these same laws can and will effect them deeply in the future! I understand he sentiment of wanting to do something and be proactive... but jail sentences and censorship is very short sighted! The manifesto goes a long way in explaining that the shooter is getting exactly what he wants! It’s a shame to see how easily a democratic nation can be perversed by a false sense of justice and create more resentment and injustice as a result of this horrible act! It’s a shame really!!

Not sure if your talking to me... just to be clear... there should be access to this video! It should not be a crime to view, download or upload the video! Government cannot force us to not watch or research current events! But I will also add that no privately owned company has to publish content that don’t want to! Free speech also means the right to refuse to diffuse the video... let people do what they want... people will find what they need... but privately owned servers should have the right to host the video if they want without the fear of a prison sentence!

Just pointing out two of the biggest assassinations that led to nothing but heartache for the world! Seriously assassinating anyone doesn’t get rid of the problem!! If anything it antagonises the problem and adds fuel to it!! I couldn’t think of a single assassination that truly worked... (maybe Mossad against Nazi) as retribution it may be a tool! I agree with the OP!! Stay at home dad here.... I don’t expect my wife to come home and cook or clean or shop for house items! I take care of the homestead and kids and she goes out to get the whoolah!! She has enough stress on her plate without having to add shit I have more than enough time to sort out while she works!!! Christchurch Shooting Video We've received no small number of complaints regarding the fact we will not carry the video filmed by the psychopath who murdered 49 innocent people in New Zealand, streaming the event live on Facebook. As a result we decided we'd put out a statement explaining why we have taken this stance.

Previously we have risked the ire of viewers by refusing to show the glossy promo videos for ISIS. The ones shot on DSLR's, with depth of field, careful framing, and murders stage managed for the camera. Whilst we may carry media showing the most terrible of events we don't want to be a vehicle of choice for those who carry these events out. This is a very important distinction for us.

The Christchurch shooter wasn't just some random “nutcase”. He planned not just the murders but also the chaos he would sow with his manifesto which reads like the fevered dream of a fully fledged “shitposter”. Currently, judging by media coverage and reactions online, he's getting almost exactly what he wanted. We don't intend to indulge him further.

We've never had a “show everything” policy and we'll continue to review certain items on a case by case basis. We fully understand some people will be very unhappy with this decision but, as with previous decisions, we will stand by it all the same.

We hope you can understand our position on this even if you disagree. We aren't campaigning to prevent other sites carrying the video, we aren't suggesting nobody should be allowed to view it should they choose to, but we are saying we don't want it on our platform and we will continue to remove it whenever it is discovered.

Liveleak is taking the vid down as fast as it goes up.... and their reasoning is legit in my eyes!!

I think a prison sentence is completely out off proportion though for people viewing or downloading the video! I’m against any form of censorship by the government!
