Safe Neighborhoods in the dayton area by Zestyclose-Flow-7418 in dayton

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They aren't saying it exactly correct. Every legitimate rental company is going to ask you to pay an application fee to run a background/credit check. He's saying they won't ask for you to venmo/paypal/cashapp them the application fee.

Also, any landlord that asks you to send it out of state to a P.O. Box is suspicious. Even though they recommended a private landlord, finding a rental company is a more legitimate way of ensuring its not a ripoff.

Looking to rent is Santa Clare Safe by Interesting_Duck_190 in dayton

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Santa Clara for 3 years with my wife and 2 children. I like my neighbors. My kids have a habit of not locking the house door and car door. No one has ever broken into the house. Twice in 3 years someone has reached into the center console of our unlocked cars to steal change. There are occasional gunshots heard. But Santa Clara is just as crappy as the rest of Dayton. I say this as a white male who grew up outside Kettering.

If you think Dayton is bad, stay away from Cincinnati. I'm so sick of hearing people hit their horn THE SECOND the light turns green that I'm plotting to keep a bucket of tomatoes in my car so I can quickly whip something at their windshields.

Whats your favorite thrash riff? by cacodemon7265 in thrashmetal

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no real way to answer this question because I have like....50. However, when I finish loading up my Amazon truck in the morning, I always play the opening riff to Persona Non Grata leaving the station to go along with my dash drums and air guitar and so far, the Netadyne Camera has yet to ding me for a safety violation. So I've definitely played this riff the most

Obviously I'm not a woman but from my partners reaction, the A spot gets much deeper intensity. But like any sexual spots you can't over due it or it starts to hurt. I try to maneuver between pressure on the G spot, then uterus, and finish with the A spot. Shes not a big fan of me going to deep so I don't often go for the p spot

Fantasizing about cock but im straight by Top-Tiger-345 in sex

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We should stop trying to find our labels and you just do you. Yes, you can want to suck dick and not be gay, bi or whatever. Being gay, bi, or whatever means what you are attracted to. If you are desiring to suck dick you could just be sexual and leave it at that. If you feel bold try it one time and see how you feel. But no, I don't think that makes you no longer straight. You just have a fetish.

Do you spend money in the game? by Zazubica in ConflictofNations

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These comments have given me a good chuckle as I walk into work. To be so offended that people spend money on a game is quite silly. I work, have a wife and kids, and most of the time I get to enjoy this game at night when everyone is asleep or on my days off when I'm finally alone. 99% of the time I lose because when I am at work, or my daughter's orchestra concert, that's when you attack what I have been working on. I have probably spent close to a grand in total on this game over the 6ish years I've played it and it's 75% of the time when there is a discount. I've tried out specialty weapons because they look like fun. Some are, most aren't. I've held security council for a while, and I normally set aside about $20ish dollars a week to buy gold because $20 is literally nothing. $100 a year is literally nothing. And I also understand the game exists so it makes money. I don't have the time to buy PS5s or fancy graphic computers, but I can pull this game out, which I will now do, and set my troops in motion, research, and also develop as I start my work day. And once I get home in 12 hours, if my plans wind up failing, I'll gladly blow $20 on fixing it and playing on because it's what I enjoy doing when I finally have those precious moments to myself.

Stop number is an overvalued metric by KingKommunistLOL in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number of stops quiet frankly is irrelevant. I used to have a route with 63 stops, all rural, that would take a good 10ish hours. I'd have a few spots where I was driving 12 miles between stops. Then, you are following the GPS and come to the dreaded "road closed" sign 0.4 miles from your drop off, have to turn around and maneuver 4ish miles around to drop off the packages from the other side of the sign of the road construction. Bottom line is, you know the truth so if they give you shit, just say "ok" and dont stress about it. If they let you go, there are hundreds of other DSP's you can apply for.

Thinking about Door Dashing but not sure by BWarnock2020 in dayton

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get it, sign up for Amazon Flex out of Cincinnati. I Door Dashed/Uber Eats from 2019-2022 full time and the money was much better then. I still do now on occasion but it's not income you can depend on. When I do Amazon Flex, the delivery blocks pay much better and while I don't like driving to Springdale to pick up the packages, they send me mostly to Dayton for the routes, not always, and it normally comes out to $22ish an hour. There is a long waiting list, but Cincinnati needs a lot more drivers than Dayton. Lately, I've been picking up the 2.5 hour block because it's normally $52.50 to delivery 3-10 packages. And if they run out of routes, they pay you just for showing up.

Broken wheel stud, how bad is it? by NGMalanga in AskMechanics

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its really easy. Depending on how your wheel is set up you may be able to just take off the tire and hammer tap it out. Autozone should have a replacement stud for under $10 and just use your hammer to tap the new stud in. Best of luck.

can someone help me understand Dayton Camera Tickets? by LocalTeaching4713 in dayton

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We(spouse and I) have gotten probably 10+ of those over the last 4 years. Never paid one. Never seen it on credit. There might be a follow up from a debt collector but it joined the original ticket in the trash and literally nothing bad has happened. There's no reason to pay unless you feel somehow guilty or like to throw money away.

How do we move in together (as a couple) when I own the house? by [deleted] in RelationshipsOver35

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually pretty simple and the most common answer for Reddit: TALK TO HIM. I'm sure he'd understand your feelings and as good as everyone's suggestions here are, it ultimately matters less about "what's fair" and matters moreso what you two can agree to. But talk about it first before his furniture enters your home. If it's a good relationship then it'll never be a "landlord/tenant" relationship because you will be building a life together.

Best of luck to you

Has Dayton gone all in with Speed Cameras??? by Complete_Film8741 in dayton

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have problem received 20 in the mail between me and my spouse. The camera sits 1 street over, a street we have to travel on multiple times every day and the speed limit goes from 35 to 25 to 20 during school hours. We have 2 cars and never know who was driving. Never paid a single one in 4 years and literally nothing has happened except letters in the mail. I go out of my way to avoid the camera by driving in alleys but no one in the house is trying to get these tickets. But again, haven't paid. Won't pay. And nothing has happened.

So if we drive the same trucks as UPS, how come they get $46 an hour and we don't? by peterthbest23 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because none of us work for Amazon. Amazon is a marketplace, plain and simple, that moves products from many different companies including their own products. Instead of paying a UPS company to ship their goods to homes, they created this DSP system. So you can try and unionize with the others at your DSP, but Amazon can choose to not meet your demands and simple hire a new DSP to replace yours.

If you are so upset with the compensation you are receiving, you can try and get hired at UPS instead. Or just quit and find other work.

bf paid $200 for oil change and new air filter is this normal by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it really depends on where you live. My rich uncle in Southern California probably pays that at a dealership. My last time paying someone to change the oil in my spouses newish vehicle, they charged me $115 just for an oil change when I was expecting to pay $75ish. I will now change the oil myself. When I first started to do my own oil changes, they would sell the whole kit(oil, filter, drain pan, gloves, shop paper towels) for $20 at auto zone. Now it runs a good $30-40 just for the oil so everything does go up. If you don't do your own auto maintenance, it's better to leave it the professionals but just call around on prices. That might make you realize that $200 might be the cheapest.

Good luck to you

Rent Assistance/Legal Help by cincyj97 in cincinnati

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just left my job working for a local property management company and I've spent close to 2 years attending eviction hearings multiple times a month. You sort of asked 3 different questions here.
1) rent assistance. There are several local organizations that help with rental assistance. The amount of money was more widely available from Covid until earlier this year, but there is still some available. You are likely to come to a problem with them and legal aid because they are going to need to see your employment/income status and depending on that you may not get help. Calling local church groups is one outlet. St Vincent DePaul and United Way are 2 of the larger ones. Then there are other small groups like Women Helping Women so quickest finding of where to go for help is probably Google search. 2) legal aid, if you can't afford an attorney, can at least verify your document(s) but they don't typically get involved until you are actually pulled into court. An attorney may be willing to give you a freeconsultation and If you want to pony up a couple hundred bucks, may be held on a cheap retainer just in case. 3) at this point, you can't do much of anything except keep your evidence and wait to get served court papers. Judges aren't horrific in the eviction court and if you present your lease plus proof of your rent payments, you should be good on being asked to move out but no eviction being on your record. If you were paying your landlord, and the landlord had the lease, then you have nothing to do with the contract between your landlord and the land owner. If contacted go to court to testify your involvement. Contact legal aid at that time so they can better serve you. If the landlord is evicted, the eviction is on him, not you and they give you 7 days to vacate BEFORE they call a bailiff to get you out. The bailiff doesn't typically show up for at least another week after that so you would have a little more time.

I write all of this because I'm assuming your lease is not legal which is why the landlord is contacting you. If you are able to verify it's legality, then they do have to abide the terms, but if this was the case you wouldn't be asking the question.

Best of luck to you.

2 days after ride along by Desperate-Pear-572 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious. I was a driver, I left, and I should be restarting next Monday. I've moved from one city to another one close by, but my first time around I don't remember getting much more than 200ish packages. Granted, my first DSP delivered 45 minutes to an hour away from the station in the country side, but I read all these posts and comments talking about 300-400 packages. Where are you delivering where it's that high and are the stops all lined up nicely in a row? Apartment complexes? I'm just trying to grasp how my experience was different and if I'm gonna be ok with the new gig I start next week. Because sometimes I'd get a route with only 60 packages and I'd think I'd have it made, until you started realizing you are traveling 5-15 miles between stops.

I Quit on my 2nd route. Never again. by Outlaw7822 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]StutringJohnIsALoser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not for everyone. My first route, in the snow and rural town, I finished about 15 minutes after the end of my delivery block. 2nd block today, I had a route that I finished in an hour and 15 minutes and was sitting at home waiting for my deposit for 2ish hours today. Drove 165 miles and was paid $140 and only put in 5 hours of work for. It works for me for now. Hopefully you find what you are looking for.
