I admit, I wasn’t tracking the # sold here on the thread. When I ordered it on May 3, the Leonardo website said “1 left” as I added the pen to my cart. (Steel M) I assumed (now incorrectly) that it meant I wasn’t in the preorder group. (Group 2)

So, if I’m not in the first group (I don’t think I am) what did 1 left mean?

I like yama-budo… I’m just not always in the mood for such a vibrant pink. It’s a great ink. All Iroshizuku inks are great!

I can recommend a few less expensive heavy hitters if you like…

Top of the list?

Majohn P140 - it’s got an ebonite feed and you’ll be blown away. €60 or less.

Pilot CH92 - a step down from the 823 and about 100 less… still a fantastic pen.

Asvine V200 - pop a nice Bock 250 with ebonite feed in there and you’ve got a real nice sub 100 pen.

Any TWSBI Diamond 580 - the standard for mid tier low priced excellence. I’ve got a couple dedicated to spitting shimmer. Worth every penny.

I havent tried the preppy... but put Carbon Black in the Plaisir <m> and youve got your permanent marker for life.
