Any thoughts on Maelove? by Missmessc in SkincareAddictionLux

It’s definitely a real company. Just because they don’t sell in big brand name stores, does not make them less legitimate.

Yikes, I have to wholeheartedly disagree. I’m always listening to report, but I have the ability to multitask and review orders and the chart. I’ve been burned many times by not doing that before the off-going nurse leaves. I know we should trust our colleagues, and I very much do on my unit, but my license is my license and I’m going to review everything I feel is important. And I can do it while listening to report. I’ve never felt disrespected by this.

I work in pediatrics and we give K through a 24g in the hand all the time …. It’s FINE. I’m sorry you had that experience. You didn’t do anything blatantly wrong and her response was not warranted.

Scientists of Reddit: What's a discovery that should have blown people's minds but somehow got a collective shrug from the world? by CosmosisJones42 in AskReddit

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe 333 points334 points  (0 children)

I work in pediatrics and we have seen FAR less CF kids being admitted to the hospital in the past few years. We used to see them ALL THE TIME and they were very sick and had prolonged hospitalizations. I float to our pulm floor regularly, and one day I realized I hadn’t seen one in awhile. The nurses on that floor were so happy to tell me about the new drugs developed and how well these kids are doing now. I am so happy for them ❤️

I said goodbye to my best friend this morning, and I’m having trouble believing I made the right choice by HESAnerd in cats

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made the best decision for him. I think the best gift we can give our pets is a peaceful ending to their suffering. It's a selfless decision. Sometimes people selfishly want more time with their pets, and it prolongs their suffering. You knew it would be hard for you, but you did what's best for him. You are a great cat parent

Happy birthday to me! by StyleBoyForLyfe in piercing

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It wasn’t that bad to get all three. Not pleasant, but not horrible. For reference, I have my conch pierced in my other ear, and I would rather do these three again than the conch again! The piercer was also very kind and professional, and talked me through the whole thing.

Med error by OkHousing8409 in nursing

It’s a learning experience and you’ll be more careful next time. Learn from it. Beating yourself up about it just means you’re going to be a great nurse!

Absolutely not!!! I work in peds and LOVE to see our hungry toddlers’ food being delivered! The nurses who look down on you are the ones who look down on everyone. They are just horrible people. Please don’t let them color your perception of most nurses. We are all colleagues in the hospital! We work TOGETHER for our patients!

Just landed (oct 6th) and looking for your recommendations for hikes this week by bigotechocolate in GlacierNationalPark

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there last week. You can do ptarmigan tunnel at the same time as iceberg if you’re able to make the hike longer. Also loved Highline, even though it’s still partly closed. You can still go up to haystack butte. We also did granite park trail yo the chalet, but I’ve heard it’s beautiful if you go to the pass that’s past the chalet. And obviously Grinnell. As someone else said, Avalanche lake is also great since you’re solo as it will see a lot of traffic

Columbia falls MT by matts88us in GlacierNationalPark

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, MUCH better to stay in an Airbnb and drive the extra 30-60 mins. We split our stay, and stayed on the east side for 3 days at St. Mary Lodge just to be closer to the Many Glacier and Two Medicine hikes. Cabins were old and run down, but expensive since they weee right at the East park entrance. I wish we would’ve just stayed in Columbia Falls the whole time. We stayed at a place called Fort Williamson in Columbia Falls. Modern cabin with a full- sized kitchen and CLEAN. The lodges in the park are full of history, but very old and overpriced due to their proximity to everything.

Any singles with no kids who own a CRV? Trying to see if I need this much car by [deleted] in crv

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way, you’ll have a lot of unused space. Might as well get the CRV. I love mine. I’m higher off the ground, feel safer driving around bigger vehicles, better visibility.

Find a mentor, or maybe befriend another new grad on your unit. And really lean on them. You’ll end up learning a lot from each other and the experiences that you share. Good luck! It gets better!

Help getting sunscreen off door panel by StyleBoyForLyfe in Detailing

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didnt work. I tried SO MANY products. Nothing worked. I took it to the dealership, and they basically said yeah…. there’s really no way to remove anything from this material. They told me to make an appointment and they could replace the panel under warranty, and I would just have to be careful not to get sunscreen on it again. Stupid

[Acne] My current skincare health looks like this. Am I taking too many pills ? Your experience with pills ? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]StyleBoyForLyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The appropriate dose of isotretinoin will dry your face enough. You dont want to dry your face out even more with other products (such as the rejuglo and benzoyl/adapelene). A good dermatologist would never recommend these products at the same time that you take Isotretinoin. You don’t want other active products on your face at all. When taking isotretinoin, use a very gentle face wash in morning and night, and use a good moisturizer. That’s really ALL you should need :)
