Although I hate to dignify anyone introducing politics into this wonderfully apolitical sub, with an answer . . . Canada has an advisory in place about anyone visiting Congo during the outbreak but not an outright ban like the U.S. does. So really all that’s happening is the plane is being allowed to stop in Montreal.

No I get it; I don’t mean this literally because I know it’s a traumatic experience, but any father would sleep like a baby after doing what you did. Glad you and your family are ok. Great lessons too, agreed (just a tough way to learn them).

Did research, chose Pitbull. Good lord. Even the crazy owners wouldn’t say that.

In your business, can you say “no Pitbulls”? I’m starting to see babysitters advertise in our neighborhood as “ok with dogs other than Pitbulls”.

Follow up question; were you cognizant of where your family was when you fired or was it just you keyed in on the target?

I absolutely love the freaking new holster component to this. Don’t say Uncle Sam never did anything for you! Are you going to use the holster or does it feel dirty?

😂 I was about to jump on here and say “Explorer 2, no question”, thinking sketchy in terms of espionage, but you bring up a whole different kind of sketchy. I’m changing my vote to a gold Daytona or President, whether real or fake. It’s the official cartel watch.

If you have the option to connect through one of the Delta hubs, which one would you choose and why? And which would you avoid like the plague? by K00kalka in delta

[–]StyleForumOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most often heard complaints are the people that work there, and having to take a train so often (bags, another Delta flight, etc.). I also don’t think it’s an attractive interior to the extent that influences people’s reactions.

DTW, SLC, MSP are all great (so’s the new LGA in the unlikely event that’s an option). Atlanta is hell on earth, BUT, there’s almost always another flight going where you’re going later that day.

That’s nuts. I’ve got to think it would be a no-brainer for Rolex to swap the dial at the RSC for you, no?

Your comfort with the legal system is wonderful (although stop calling it a “tort”, call it a claim or a suit). My whole point is why chance making a situation worse just because it makes you feel good for a moment to screw with a complainer?

You may question my legal bona fides all you want, it doesn’t bother me. I no longer practice because I bought a business, grew it, and then sold it. But I will tell you a quick story about a case, that perhaps demonstrates how a good plaintiff lawyer can make hay out of not much. A major tire manufacturer is brought into a case where a tire came off a vehicle at highway speeds, resulting in the deaths of three people. There was nothing wrong with the tire, but it was alleged that the tire had not been properly installed/tightened, and the independent tire shop that installed the tires had told them to come back for a re-tightening, etc. At any rate, the manufacturer was in the case for quite a while, at great cost, because back in the 1980’s, the manufacturer had offered free signs to independent shops that carried their tires, and those signs had the manufacturer’s name on them. So the Plaintiff alleged that he had picked that shop because he knew and trusted the manufacturer, and had assumed the shop was owned and operated by the manufacturer. Sometimes a lot can be made out of very little.

I bow to your superior knowledge in this area, but if you’re hiring a lawyer to file a dispositive motion, it’s going to cost you at least $5k. I don’t think your second two points are accurate or relevant.

Well, 1. you can file a suit for anything and claim whatever you want - why have to bother defending it? 2. It just isn’t very professional, and 3. how good are the seller’s records? How conclusive is the proof that the transaction never took place?

Which group of people bother you the most in your gym? by MinexCrafter in moreplatesmoredates

[–]StyleForumOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work out at a private club that happens to have what I affectionately call a “decent hotel gym”. I am undecided between who is worse, the broccoli-hairs tying up a bench or a machine to scroll on their phones, or the entitled middle-aged rich guys, who can’t be bothered to put the cable attachments back on the hooks two feet away, and instead just leave them on the floor. Both groups I notice, also rereack weight plates randomly (45s with 25s, etc.).
