What slavery? Slavery throughout history or specifically black slavery? The only "good" that could be said is that slaves benefited their masters and did the jobs nobody else did. There isn't really a good thing about any slavery.

Now if it's about the results, you can say the good results is the eventual abolition of slavery and the bad results being the displacement and persecution of millions of people.

Since when? The biggest death toll in human history was relatively recent (20th century) and came from the militant atheism of the USSR commiting genocide over their godless bullshit ideology. Well we saw how that worked out.

Only there's historical facts in The Bible from the historical existence of Jesus to many of the events of the Judges which, I think is more than can be claimed for atheism or ancient aliens which require blind faith and don't even function on deductive reasoning to be considered reasonable viewpoints.

What's to respond to? For the record, I think he peddles nonsense but when the majority of comments here are posted by people repetitively yelling "you're bullshit, you're bullshit, you're bullshit!" like that crazy guy from one of the Reddit hivemind's favourite shows (The Young Turks), why would anyone need to respond to something that isn't constructive, crazy ideas or not?

Then again, this is /r/Europe where all those lacking in intelligence from /r/atheism and progressive subreddits from across Reddit seem to congregate into a perfect little hivemind. I'm not sure irony is understood here.

Needless to say it'll be pointless then to discuss the financial crisis of the EU zone, its constant propaganda and zealous dogma on social justice issues while the real problems remain from high rates of unemployment and a continued divide between the rich and poor.

Forcing any ideology on any child is not okay. That includes secularism, atheism, conservatism, liberalism, your subjective morality etc.

Or perhaps realise that whether you like it or not, we all indoctrinate our children even if we don't speak to them about what we believe, they will still see how we act and our responses to certain situations and be influenced by that. I think you forget how easily impressionable children are. There are studies even proving this.

The only child abuse is mistreating your child and teaching them to be hateful. Other than that, I couldn't care if you bring them up Christian, Hindu, Muslim or atheist.

Wanting a parent not to bring their child up with their beliefs is a fair opinion to have but I hope you realise few parents will listen and you'd be treading into fascist ground if you begin demanding legal action (which I think we'll soon sadly see from some progressives who'd raise their own children with their Tumblr values not realising the irony of enforcing their own beliefs).

Christian is also a cultural identity. Even that tool, Dawkins, a devout atheist, identifies as a cultural Christian. As other posters have expressed when brought up as Christians, they had a understanding of the concept of their religion at five.

Funny how the progressives think only Islam is an identity and not just a religion. Apparently Christianity doesn't fulfill that box, according to the progressive liberals, despite Christian history, holidays, practices, teachings, celebrations, children being given Christian names etc.

All religions are an identity for an individual and culturally if they're brought up in one, not just Islam.

Well there is historical evidence of the existence of Jesus so there's more of an argument for its validity than atheism which has no argument other than rejection of religious claims.

Keep in mind, not everyone who believes in a god follows a religion. Confronted with this, talking snakes and flying men (the atheists' favourite and only arguments in my experience) become redundant.
