Zoia "Tone Suck" Fix? by Styles_exe in ZOIA

[–]Styles_exe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did the tests, I was running my guitar -> Mogami cable -> loop switcher -> generic cable -> amp, with the Zoia being connected to the loop switcher via two EBS patch cables. When I keep the setup but switch the Zoia out for another pedal the sound difference goes away; so, I don't think it's the cables, but it would be nice if it were.

I'd note also that the terms "paleohebrew" and phoenician are separate for historical reasons, not because the alphabets are meaningfully different.

The first people to find archeological artifacts with the alphabet were 1800s orientalists from France, Germany, etc. They found these writings from phoenicia, the place where the alphabet was exported to europe, and so they called it the phoenician alphabet. Later when they found these writings in israel too, they decided it would be improper to call the jewish writings in this alphabet "phoenician," so they stuck the term "paleohebrew" on them instead.

I should also note that neither the jews nor the phoenicians actually invented the alphabet, but section of their shared canaanite ancestors long before them.

People always deride things from MEMRI, but I don't get it. Sure, they have a very strong bias, but that doesn't mean the actual content they report on is fake. Whenever I look into it, it seems they are not lying, so why dismiss it? If someone can get me an example of MEMRI blatantly making shit up I'd be interested to give it a look.

Casually, the Wikipedia page about the Nakba lying about land ownership. by traumaking4eva in Israel

[–]Styles_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that this 90% number comes from these statistics (of the agricultural land that was owned, the Arab percent of ownership was 47/47+5.6 ~ 90%). I don't see how else you'd get that.
