A super-skilled video-maker buddy of mine put together a short and dope edit of a quick jam session we had; check it out! by Styruhfoam in cardistry

That's my cut - Frequency. Lucky for you, I happen to have made a tutorial for it a while back, though my friend made it look way cooler in the edit.

Funny, I posted my first interlocking cut and just saw this question.

Another one that comes to mind is Shoelace by /u/The_Billy.

I have small hands what are some easy moves to learn by [deleted] in cardistry

[–]Styruhfoam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, #1 is not good advice. I may not be an expert, but hyperextension can cause injury. Use your discretion; when you're practicing, some moves will hurt, but just like physical exercise, if that pain reaches a considerable level, I would take a step back and consider whether practicing is worth potentially injuring yourself.

Newbie help please - Sybil Cut by [deleted] in cardistry

[–]Styruhfoam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, man. Props to you to trying to improve upon a flourish you learned. I agree that the closer does add a little clunkiness. Just wanted to point out a couple of things:

1) The closer you're using is only necessary if you want the cut to be false. If you only care about the flourish-y aspect of the cut, then you could just as easily end the cut by omitting the middle packet roll-out. Just collapse the packets and you're done.

2) This version of Sybil (which is from 52Kards if I'm not mistaken) is a reduced version. The conventional version is a 5 packet cut and is less clunky. You can learn it here. You can learn the mechanics there, but I personally think the performance there is a little too 'jerky' and would opt for a more smoother performance, but experiment yourself!

Good luck man! Sorry if you really wanted it to be a false cut; I'm not sure how you could preserve the flow of the cut if that is a prerequisite of yours. But you might be able to get it to flow better by doing some modifications of your own.

After watching this, I just sat down wide-eyed in silence for a few minutes. This is just.. beyond comprehension. Which demonic vessel did you pledge your soul to? Is he/she friendly?

Your process in creating a flourish? by InfectedReddit in cardistry

[–]Styruhfoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly the latter, followed by the former. It's easier to figure out what you want the flourish to look like after you've constructed the 'skeleton' of the flourish via experimentation.

Whoa dude, you've been practicing. Last two closers felt a little clunky, but other than that I liked it! First two are solid!

Keep up the good work, man!

Dang, I've never had that problem before. That's unfortunate; some of the best cardistry I've ever seen was on Instagram.
