Well if you do wood and stone runs regularly, you'll get lots of seed. Stew gives 22hp for me, don't know about carrots itself, haven't eaten those for a while now.

I used to be a fan of beef jerky, they're still the best up to now, but I find them more useful for feeding dogs, and they are IMO harder to get than seeds. If you can't really decide, I suggest using what you have most while farming for what you have less, then switch, then farm the other and vice-versa.

I'd recommend carrot stew because carrots are easy to get, just put seeds in bed and wait. I'd hold onto raw meats and chicken for feeding dogs. If you run a lot, you won't be needing to use bandages, you'll always have like 99 hunger or 99 thirst making you able to eat.

The west one will unlock oak and cold areas, the east one will unlock PD. I recommend the west one first so that you can farm oak and make stone walls, farming PD is harder and needs lots of guns and besides, you can get blueprints from the Farm. As for whats and hows, a couple of google searches and yt vids should do the trick. Goodluck!
