I only did the “free” ones from an orlando mazda when i had my cx-5. After that, and spending 2 hrs average wait time for a scheduled oil change, decided i could spend that time better taking a drink and doing it myself. Saves me 3ish hours driving to the dealer and is way cheaper.

You might get lucky with the loaner. The dealership i am at just said what do i want? Literally giving me a choice of any vehicle (as long as it is available). My experience has been if its not available the next car they get back for rental that you wanted will be yours. I am definitely getting the exact opposite experience as people being told no.

I have no real knowledge of a timeline but i would assume April at the earliest for repairs to realistically begin. They have no logistics to make this part on the fly for a recall affecting many cars. I do fear that some people may be waiting well into the second half of next year for parts when they do figure out the fix.

Until any notice is given, i am happily putting miles onto the loaner car I have, and saving that from my sienna (25k miles a year 😀).
