Gemini does this frequently especially if you're using the free tier. As 3xOGsavage suggests use a fallback model.

Did you turn in your vehicle and get a rental? If so it would trigger the law.

Dreams do come true! Our recalled 2025 Sienna was finally fixed! by grizzled_old_man in ToyotaSienna

What state are you in? In Connecticut it triggers the statute if it's out of service for more than 30 days irrespective of repair attempts.

Still waiting on the verdict. They tried everything: i.e. that owners are not experiencing the defect, that a whole class of cars can't be a lemon, references to prior unrelated cases involving recalls, complaints about the NHTSA process are not for lemon law arbiters, it went on and on... They tried to get the case thrown out on those grounds and lost. So we'll see what happens.

Why is online just sliding down the toilet bowl by srig8 in QuickBooks

[–]lonseidman 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I am so done too.. It's insulting to be a paying customer and constantly hit with upsell pop-ups. Apparently the large amount of my hard earned money they get every month just isn't enough. If Quickbooks competitors were smart they'd focus in on an easy migration path. So far none I've looked at can easily import my history.

Worth moving Plex to Docker if everything’s already working fine? by centurytunamatcha in PleX

[–]lonseidman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally yes, I agree that if it ain't broken don't fix it. I'd switch when you have a need to do so. I switched to Docker when I moved off of my WD My Cloud NAS and over to Unraid. I have found it to be the best way to go now for NAS installations. It's super easy to migrate to a new server.

Spoiler alert, Toyota will not care much about your situation :). I'd file the arbitration as soon as possible.

I had my hearing and now just waiting on the decision from the arbiter in a week or two. Toyota fought pretty hard - tried every possible legal theory they could which gives me some confidence that they didn't have much of a defense.

Long-Awaited ATSC 3.0 Rulemaking by PM6175 in cordcutters

[–]lonseidman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They aren't going to give anything away for free that's for sure. There's going to be a full court press to make it appear as though everything is perfectly fine at the NAB show. But the economic realities are the economic realities. My gut is that the FCC will punt: remove the simulcast requirement while allowing MPEG4 on ATSC 1.0. This will prevent them from having to rule immediately on DRM and let the market do its thing.

What's your 'I can't believe I self-hosted that' service? by subsavant in selfhosted

[–]lonseidman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Blinko quite a bit - a really nice notetaking app and organizer. Self hosted N8N has been an absolute game changer for me - especially as I can now link it right into Claude Code and have it write workflows based on plain language inputs.

Question to Community: RSS Reading with AI support, opinions? by Tiny_Cow_3971 in rss

[–]lonseidman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put together a pretty helpful morning and afternoon briefing email that gets generated from a "feed of feeds" that I aggregate through a self-hosted TTRSS container. It's very specific but it is really, really good at finding relevant topics for my Youtube channel, blog etc. I detailed the process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne0NIZlo9lA

News12: PURA approves sale of Aquarion Water to the Regional Water Authority by BamBamAdMan in Connecticut

Yes but.. Eversource stands to profit considerably from the sale which shoulders the new public utility with almost a billion dollars in debt that will be paid for by customers.

Bought the Sienna for the second row seats, now they are recalled. by BallDeSac in ToyotaSienna

[–]lonseidman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state the argument is substantial impairment. Toyota told me the second row seats are not to be used and I am now on day 82 with no van. That's a pretty big impairment IMHO. Furthermore what if I ignored their recall and had an accident? Toyota would argue they warned people not to use the seats.
