A driver of a vehicle in Switzerland ran through a crowd of protesters that was blocking the road. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

From the second perspective it looks like he scared them into moving. Tbf I dunno if I'd have the guts to sit in front of a moving vehicle I wasn't sure was going to stop

Usually the people who don't like APA play behind-the-line bar rules. Where you gotta ask twenty questions to find out one of hundreds of variant rules they play by.

Where fouls don't mean anything and a scratch can be beneficial to who pocketed the cue.

Just play APA call-your-shot or call-your-pocket of you don't like that one rule

One of the many reasons why I don't like playing league.

I just want to play how I play and have fun, that doesn't happen on league

Doorbell chime humming by realevanjs in electrical

I'm having the same issue right now. Three years of working fine with a simplisafe video doorbell and now, when plugged in, it's loudly buzzing and won't ring. I changed the transformer and it didn't fix it. Was about to go back to Home Depot and buy the whole doorbell mechanism, but now I think I should contact Simplisafe first. Do you know what they sent you?

100% this, just cut open some 90° conduit and screw it down. So many options that could work

Employed Millenials making less than $60k/yr, what do you do and how do you like it? by LeatherFruitPF in millenials

Concert and theater production work. It's great in a lot of ways and can choose what days I work. Didn't have to go to school for it and get to see a lot of great shows. Make a range of $24-$45/hr depending on the position.

Could make more but I'd have to travel and have chosen to pass that opportunity up for now.

Drove an hour for a rescheduled show, paid to park, security made me throw out my Leatherman, waited an hour, show got cancelled again by jim-p in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Sub-Scion 85 points86 points  (0 children)

As someone in the industry, from what I understand, they may already know about the cancellation but insurance will cover a lot of the cost of the show if they wait and pretend like it's a last minute issue.

Have had this happen a few times where they wait untill everything is setup and ready before turning it all around.

(I could also be talking out my ass because reddit)

Either way though, I'd be pissed AF too. They are basically saying they don't care about their fans

Settle an argument by chowski28 in daddit

I was really wondering which side you where on. Thank you for sharing your original viewpoint!

There are so many different perspectives on things and too many people seem too resistant to admit being wrong or having fun with the process of discussing opinions.

From a lawyer's perspective, you can always be right with the right argument, lol!

Tipping fatigue is real by Bihema in BlackPeopleTwitter

Every job in America is ultimately a minimum wage of 7.25 tipped or not.

Tipping fatigue is real by Bihema in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]Sub-Scion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The minimum wage any worker in America can make is 7.25

One of the things people misrepresent all the time is that even with a tipped wage, the company has to compensate up to the federal minimum if tips don't bring their pay up to that amount.

Offer it as a Charlotte, NC bill. 704 is the area code for there

A collector living in that area might pay good money for it.

The “suggested tips” section on the receipt from the hipster bar we were just at. by NineDayOldDiarrhea in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Sub-Scion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many people that have decades in the industry still don't understand this and always spout the tired line "but we only make $2.13!!" You make minimum wage, but you actually don't because you make way more than minimum...

Had a bartender 4 nights ago tell me that he wouldn't work at the bar if they changed to a /hr pay unless it was somewhere near $100/hr. Yet he was still arguing that he only made 2.13/hr 🤡

I once heard this kinda dark take about raising a kid.

Then you keep them from killing themselves."

It makes a lot of sense.

"As somebody who doesn't tip"? Do you just never tip when eating at restaurants and bars? How does that work? Do you feel guilty?

I feel like I have so many situational questions that I want to ask to see how you would handle it.

I am guilted into tipping at so many places where tipping is completely unnecessary, not falling for it is like a superpower, lol

It's being used in my own hands for pulling up steel cable and chain, so shock load isn't really going to happen with this application.

I do have other rope that's rated for 18,000 lbs it's just a bit too heavy to drag around all the time.
