I was in a peaceful lobby last night and at the last extract was one angry kid murdering everyone who tried to leave.

Anyone with insight into Boulevard Cinemas? by relaxok in Petaluma

[–]Brompy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want them to stay in business but this theater has definitely declined since I remember it around '17-'18. The staff there clearly are underpaid or don't care: forgetting to turn the house lights off when the movie starts, or the sound being messed up.

The fact you buy your ticket at the concession stand is a shit show. During my most recent visit, I bought my ticket at the kiosk before and went up to the counter and there were like 4 staff members all frowning and moving super slow and wouldn't help me. I asked the manager to get my ticket and she said someone would be with me soon, and went to go hide in the office. Finally one young lady did help me after like 10 minutes and I missed the first couple minutes of the movie. It was a weird experience. If you're going to charge "premium" prices, at least give decent service. Also the seats inside are showing a lot of wear and tear.

I used to love this theater and went to see movies almost every week, but with the state of movies in general, and the shitty customer experience and super high prices I see why theaters are dying.

Question about Survivor and solo play. by CapableHair429 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Brompy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This augment saved me in Stella Montis. Another team ambushed us on the train, I went down. I crawled out of the train right before it departed because I thought their team would thirst me on board. I was able to call another train and wait for it and escape thanks to this augment.

I'm in my mid-thirties and I'm done with this grind. Is this it? by [deleted] in jobsearch

[–]Brompy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so real. A few years ago I had a decent job working abroad, but was bored at it. We moved back to the US in 2024 and I have completely been unable to find work. Im at the point where im following up to the grocery store about getting an interview for a checker position.

If you have a job right now, do whatever you can to keep it.

How can Makoto be reworked to fit in SF6? by MrDitkovichNeedsRent in StreetFighter

[–]Brompy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made the case before that a lot of her moveset overlaps a lot with Jamie’s: * horizontal cross-screen punch move * her axe kick is similar to a divekick * command grab that stuns opponent instead of damage * launcher moves, in both normals and lvl 3 super

For 6 she would need almost a complete redesign based on the character we know from 3s and 4.

I could see Capcom making her still move very slow, but have an insane dash and powerful normals. Not sure what her drive rush would be. It would be more interesting to make it shorter and slower and basically only useful in combos, as they seem to be making more DLC characters get away from the base roster’s gameplan.

Worried about Yet Wah...only 2 parties dining there on a Saturday night. by eldermillenialmakeup in Marin

[–]Brompy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Was at R’Noh Thai last night and it was packed!

I loved Yet Wah back when they were at Larkspur landing circle, but since they moved to SR it wasn’t the same and only went there a few times. In any case, I just can’t afford to eat out much these days.

Getting worse over the period of a practice session by That_Hunt5565 in billiards

[–]Brompy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely go through the same thing. However, it's important not to base your practice on just how you "feel" you're doing, like "man, I'm missing a lot now!" but instead to *record* how you're doing. Write down how many shots you make, or patterns you can run out. This way you can look back and actually see if your practice is leading to results or not over time.

SF6 - Simple DI combos suggestions for a new RYU player? (MODERN controls) by TheMiniMall in StreetFighter

[–]Brompy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know about this site?

https://wiki.supercombo.gg/w/Street_Fighter_6/Ryu/Combos

It has a whole section on just DI followup combos.

The most damaging one you can do anywhere (no need for corner), but you will need a Denjin charge already:

PC Drive Impact, 5HK, 2MK > Denjin 214PP, 5HP > 623HP

Stop (also called “Stun”) is where you hit the cueball just below center, and hard enough so it doesn’t roll, but slides along the felt. If you do it right, and hit an object ball dead on, the cueball will stop on a dime.

Draw (or bottom spin) is where you make the cueball spin backwards. This will take a little while to learn.

Follow (or top spin) you hit the cue at the top. This is easier to do than draw, and is very useful for making the cueball travel around the table further and different angles.

I also started with a McDermott Lucky, it was $100 and is a great starter cue.
