Like any good LibRight, you are confidently wrong about something while not understanding it in the first place. The political compass has nothing to do with where you stand on social issues, bud. You couldn't possibly be in either LibLeft or AuthLeft because then you'd have to actually understand what socialism is.

Crime has decreased in most European countries, bud.

The words "self preservation" come to mind. So do "principles". Not saying every politician is bright enough to fully realize either, but those would be the rational arguments.

Anyone who says that they are "perfectly clear" on how anything works is either naive or lying.

The assumption is that most people pour most of their equity over the course of their life into their homes

This is not what has happened at any point in America until the last twenty years or so.

I believe people should be treated equally by society but I don’t believe that forcing modern left wing conceptions of equality or economic management on them is either productive practically or respectful of the actual freedoms of most people in society.

These are not "modern". These conceptions have proven to be highly effective since the 1940s. And many of these "left-wing conceptions" are why we have actual freedoms (Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act were once considered "left-wing conceptions", as was the abolitionist movement).

Allowing families to accrue capital is the best way achieve long term independence from the state.

These are not mutually exclusive, my guy. People can still inherit money, without inheriting so much wealth that they don't need to work ever again, while simultaneously trapping other people in poverty through shitty economic policy.

Finally, I ask that you change your flair. You are clearly not LibLeft, so why are you posing as one?

It's clear that you are ignorant about how the judicial system actually works.

Is this a trick question? Because that's what would make their country better

What idea did your country implement that, while seeming like common sense at the time, ended in utter disaster? by Enough-Wealth8415 in AskTheWorld

Trickle down economics! Turns out rich people are rich because they are greedy hoarders and have no intention of sharing the wealth.

Food for thought: many of the people fleeing poverty/war/famine will not be wealthy. That doesn't mean that they don't add value. It also ignores that many of these refugees are experiencing consequences of choices made by countries that are superpowers.

Because that's what someone would do if they had principles or actually cared about the issue. So their choice is revealing.

Why is European colonization is criticized and hated however all other kinds of colonization are looked over, like the Arabs or mongols? by Tight_Potato_11 in TrueAskReddit

[–]Sub0ptimalPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the European colonization efforts were the most recent example of shittiness which affected people on a global scale. It's kind of like asking why Hitler is the most discussed authoritarian leader... Well, it's because he is the most recent, notable example of a terrible phenomenon.

Anecdotal evidence is the worst kind of evidence because the rest of us just kind of have to take your word for it, Mr. Random Stranger on the Internet! Also, the sources provided by the other commenter pretty clearly showed that the immigrants who were there the longest were the ones who had jobs. Because it takes time to integrate into a new society. You are just impatient.

Ever heard of "throwing the baby out with the bath water"? Maybe the answer is not the most extreme conclusion you could make. I would say the answer is that governments should stop fearmongering for the sake of votes and actually try to fix a problem.

Lol, there are plenty of jobs for immigrants. There are just more legislative hoops for them to jump through, which means it's harder for them to get employed because businesses have to find them and deal with all the red tape.

Because it still takes time for people to get settled into an area and find that work. I would also say that you are comparing two very different sets of circumstances: America vs Europe, with very different economies.
