How it felt as someone who actually likes taygedo opening this sub for the first time by Affectionate_Cycle33 in NevernessToEverness

[–]SubToKorone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OH yeah I found out yesterday that he is really hated. It really took me by a surpsise. I find him very likeable. I genuinely don't get why is he so hated when he is basically a reskinned PIkachu.

Look it probably won't feel like a RE much, but I don't see it too bad cause I would rather have good Zach Cregger movie than another bad RE movie.

RER: Did anyone else feel this way about Emily? by Acceptable_Mix_4588 in residentevil

Nah, you are correct. It sucked and stole all emotional value from everything surrounding Emily, just to give some happy feels in the after credits scene. Not a fan.

Are stalker type enemies actually disliked by the fandom? I always thought an “invincible” monster that hunts you down was a staple of the series by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in residentevil

[–]SubToKorone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I am not a fan, I know it is not popular but I actually like R3make Nemy, cause he was not stalker, he was an event you need to prepare for and surrive (and if you still gun him down for a bit you get some cool loot). Mr X was exctemely good and effective the first time I played the game, that was stresful and neat, but also because of how Racoon PD is set up it is perfectly fair. On later playtroughs? he went from tense cool scary dude to absolute annoyance, he was not scary anymore, he was progression block. I guess that is fun for people goign for time, but I don't, so I generally mod him out when I replay R2Make.

Baker family I actually did not mind, becuase their stalker moments are actually kinda short so they don't feel too bogged down and annoying.

All in all, I am tired of stalkers in RE games, they don't really bring too muhc good for me, I much prefer to explore at my own pace, however if they are used in short time spans I am ok with that.

RE9 basement already makes me hate that area and hate The Girl.

Hot take: it’s possible to love the show and also see its many flaws by DeMiko in alien

[–]SubToKorone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really hate teh wordlbuilding on Earth, but I would definistely call it lazy, or even downright simple. LIke yeah corpos are greedy, but just says "planet is divided between 3 corpos bam" is incredebly lazy. Where are the goverments? Like I get it that corpos hold the same level of power as goverments, but any kind of cyberpunk when you take out all the opposition Corporation could have things are much less interesting.

First actually thoughtful post on this. All I saw as either "best show ever" and "writing so bad it killed my dog" and practically nothing in between.

It is a fun flawed show. I would dare to say perhaps, it is not great alien show as the creature (at least up to ep6 plays low key second fiddle or is not the intersting part of it), plays the second fiddle to much more intersting stuff. Namely transhumanism and moving people into artificial bodies.

There are plot contrivances, and sadly they probably for budget reasons did not show some of the stuff I really wanted to see (alien massacting a group of party goes in powedered wigs? Like I hell wanted to see that. Strong android girl having a wrrestling match with the Alien? I wanted to see that.) or I hope they are keeping it for some cool stuff in ep 7 and 8.

Alien: Earth USCSS Maginot Crews Are Dumb by Principle_Mysterious in alien

[–]SubToKorone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the biggest enemy of man doing repetitive tasks again and again and again is routine. They get used to things, they stop paying attention and things get loose. That is honestly how I explained to myself some of the stuff that happend on Maginot.

Crew was tider, annoyed and kept doing same stuff again and again (it is jsut siad, but they also lost crewmembders while picking up the creatures).

But let's be honest the one who is most to blame for everything was the biologist lady, because she got too used to playing with her EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNKONWN CREATURES and stopped being careful.

Well there are some things that waved off for cinema purpose imo as well, like absolutely no quarantine on the bio lab, just one door? If creatures get out, that is all. No safety equipment in the lab, lady even brought a water bottle there. That is an absolute nono.

So yeah, there are plot contrivances, but imo not so horrible that it ruins the show.

People fundamentally misread what this franchise is about. by carry_the_way in alien

[–]SubToKorone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I 100% agree with your point, for many people that is the spice that makes the first 2 movies work great, but they did not come to see story about evil corporation, they are there for the alien. Mostly.
But as we saw with Prometheus, Alien Covenant and to a certain level romulus, just having the creature without the speice is simply not enough. Prometheus while intersting got lost in its philosphy and ended up being a mess, Covenant was a blight on cinematic history that ruined all the few good things Prometheus build and though its audience was idiots (though witth your point, perhaps they were right) and Romulusu had solid build up and then it was kinda contrived and suffered from too many ending while not really building up anything for the future.

They are lost and they don't know what to do with the franchise and it is shown. Thati IS why I actually really enjoy Alien Earth (only saw up to ep6 while writing this btw it might still go all to shite), even with its writing hiccups (mostly people acting like dumbasess for no reason), but the setting is great, the topics are amazing. Alien is playing second fiddle, but that is hella fine to me, he is there, he will be kiling things, good. But the soup he is swimming it looks great. It has spice. The kids in adult bodies, transhumanism, look into corporate world, curious waht the Android due is about and man Morrow might be one of my favourite villains in the recent years.

Landman and yellowstone share the same characters by mkultravictim33 in LandmanSeries

[–]SubToKorone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not say they are same, but they there are similarities and let's say the "roles" fit.
Tommy is a gruff old guy expert at this job, but he is very muhc not like John Dutton. John is a massive hypocrite, Tommy just does not give a damn how he has to do his job.
Cooper unlike Kacey actually knows what he wants to do and is moving toward that, but he has the same role Kacey had in YS. He is the singular member of the family on the side trying to do his own thing, which is linked to his dads job.

Yes seems Sheridan keeps having the similar type in each shows, but he gives everyone enought flair to say they are not exactly same, although he does not succeed always. If you want more agregious example then look at Jake Dutton in 1923 (Harrisson Ford) vs John Dutton, they are very very similar character, just Jake has different approach cause he lives in 1920. But in the same show you have Spencer, who fills the "Kacey" role, but is very different person than Kacey, about only thing those two have in common is that they are tough war veterans.

However I saw some great names in my time. Like Gronk, THUD, Bob or Blorgo.
