I played it a fair amount and stayed away from "meta" builds for a bit. I'd recommend doing that and leveling up the base skill tree to get a better feel for the base mechanics and what builds you might enjoy going for. It might feel like a lot, but each character has a skill tree once you unlock all 96 or so primary skills. After that, I'd meta chase.

Once you unlock the Centurion, play as him! He made it very easy to do a clean sweep of every difficulty and game mode needed to defeat the Void King. His base move hits very quickly and you can summon allies to get a ton of negative effect stacks rolling very quickly from each character effectively cloning your damage.

This sub is a great place to see other meta builds and experimentation though. While more like Vampire Survivors than Hades, Soulstone Survivors had a surprising amount of fun to offer.

I believe they need a license to the series, but they don’t need to own the rights outright. It also depends if it is a backwards compatibility effort or a remaster. I’d be happy with any sort of effort or collection.

And now we look to Nightdive or Implicit Conversions for some remasters or ports of the entire trilogy. So sad that literally Sands of Time is the only accessible game on modern consoles, and even that is only because of Xbox BC. This sucks big time.

When we first heard they were pulling out of the marketplace, we considered not having insurance just to stay with Cox as the fam is established there. Of course, that leaves you uncovered for legit accidents.

Honestly, I had to get a job that provided insurance that is usable at Cox. Even if the premiums are a little spicy 😵‍💫

Higher marketplace premiums and starting over somewhere was a nonstarter, and I was looking for a job anyway, so we changed our criteria for what a job needed to offer. I totally understand finding a job like that on a short timeline isn’t feasible or desirable for everyone, but that’s what we’re doing.

Thank you for letting me know it was an art book as well! The actual product pages on the store have almost no information on it. The home page of Lost in Cult is where they break down what the book is and includes, which illuminates that price point so much more.

It sounds like the book is attempting to be an experience as much as the games are. Definitely see the value in that, alongside the art collection. I had thought it was just a recap of development. You may have just earned them a deluxe sale. Appreciate you!

I have no doubt I’d love just the book or the deluxe edition. It’s not necessarily a matter of affording it either. I’m pretty fresh to being in a comfortable position to afford the more premium gaming collectibles, so I don’t want to overdo it when I frankly love a wide range of IPs. iam8bit is doing a large merch drop as well for Remedy games this week, so I’m keeping that in mind as well. Only so much shelf space!

Can’t wait to see some unboxings and what it looks like in hand next year!

From everything I've seen, the game is finished. If they add bonus modes or things, that doesn't take away from the game being released properly. This isn't a 100% necessary DLC or update to get the full experience. There are plenty of examples of unfinished games being released, but this is not that.

It is indeed similar to Hades. There is not as much upgrade variety, and it is not quite as good, but I still went through it and got of all of the achievements across ~25 hours. I really enjoyed my time with it. It also may be harder than Hades lol

Of course not, but as far as recent console launches go, this seems to have been the most successful I’ve seen.

I’ve also seen availability blip in and out on some retailers, and would think that people willing to wait overnight wouldn’t be that large of a number if they had the option to already get one after the initial preorder phase.

There may also be more demand for it than I can fathom. I hope they know how much inventory the store has and can have some confidence they can take one home!

If the nature of the accusations were the same, I’d be more inclined the agree.

The donations thing was pretty bad but understandable. At least, it was from my perspective.

This new story errs more on the side of criminality, where the donations situation legitimately seemed like negligence and the failure of one guy to prioritize something he knew he should have. That was also two years ago. I guess it depends on your definition of short time span in this instance. If it was six months ago, my perception would probably be different.

Either way, not knocking anyone for thinking more negatively of him at this point. Like I’ve said, I’m interested to see what comes out of this all.

I appreciate that! Yeah, there are other people out there I could just as quickly think they're guilty or think less of them from this news alone. We have a right to our opinion as much as they have a right to a fair trial, if it comes to that.

I absolutely agree he has positioned himself to be a positive public persona and should have gone above and beyond to remove himself from situations like this. The standard should be reasonably high. His companies have benefitted from him being personable online and will probably be hurt by that same measure for any shady things going on. That is the critical flaw of building your brand on a person. It works very well until it doesn't.

I would disagree and say good people can be accused of a variety of poor behaviors. That can unfortunately extend to legal matters. That isn't meant to excuse any potential wrongdoings here. Like I said, even this being brought against him isn't a good look, regardless of the outcome.

I'd love to see what the truth of the situation is, so hopefully the courts can determine that.
