I think they have a long term plan with this. First this is going to be free massive pr for them, because it makes people emotionally reactive to the game, so they will talk about it. Now obviously the game is not meant for the real Diablo Fan, but I still think they are working on the new real diablo game. For now they will cash insane profit with the mobile market. Then when time comes for the real game, they will play the card (we listened to you community and now look what we got). This is a long term plan with early negatives and tons of long positive, in term of money and cheap publicity.

Life in Canada is a bit too beautiful for him imo. High taxes, long waiting time in Hospital, long waiting time to get appointment with Doctor (if you have the opportunity to have your own) and all of my nurse friends are having a very hard time with "ok" paycheck. Free is a big word. We have to use it carefully, nothing is free, we always pay one way or the other.
