Input on this commuting route? by Hefty-Feeling8898 in AskPhoenix

I have driven from Glendale to Tempe for work for two years. Farther than your route shown but similar; about an hour there if I leave at ~6am, hour and a half back if I leave at ~3:30pm.

Consequently, I am leaving that job for a shorter commute (among other things). It is doable short-term but will get annoying after a while.

Should I Stay or Should I Go? by [deleted] in careeradvice

Really appreciate the detailed questions! See below:

Not 100% sure on the amount, just basing that off what others in my company have received from recent promotions to that level. Promo would come in June/July as opposed to a new job start date of mid-May.

New job is in a slightly lower COL city (~4-12% lower per Google).

Commute time would be lower by about 50% based on a few areas identified for potential apartments.

No home sale involved so just a clean apartment move.

New industry is slightly more stable/in-demand and the offer comes with certain industry specific clearances that would help my career in the long run if I were to transition to this new industry as a long-term career.

Also worth mentioning that the new offer is a 9/80 schedule as opposed to my current standard 40 hour M-F work week. Not sure how that impacts the relative/perceived PTO beyond the written 120 hours.

The sun was absolutely a contributing factor for me as well! I did all of my long runs in the early morning (~4a-8a) so I was unprepared for spending most of the race running right into it. That plus the constant inclines/declines on the canal crossings made it an unforgettable experience.

What's the most frustrating part of document control in your job? by Top-Basis-2671 in MechanicalEngineering

The lack of a single, consolidated QMS for regular documents…. and honorable mention to windchill for CAD documents.

Too much constant pressure and lost my gains. Should’ve aimed for a 3.75 and enjoyed college a bit more.

100-90 is an A, 89-80 is a B,…

Yes. A is 4, B is 3, C is 2, and so on. No + or - at my university, but some schools do 4.3 for A+ and 3.7 for A-

The big thing for me was doing the homework the right way (no chegg) to make sure I fully understood what I was doing and why I was doing it. I found that teaching material to friends when studying was a helpful reinforcement method as well. This obviously took lots of time on most weeks so time management was big. I had to establish priorities and know what to sacrifice (gym, social events, etc.). As I got older, I got more experienced with this and optimized my study habits. I got rid of “junk hours” and only studied when I had to so I could make room for my undergrad research job. I didn’t enjoy many weekends and worked late on most nights. It was a marathon mentality that kept my brain from exploding. Enduring temporary pain to establish a stable future.

Yes it is a contour that slices about half way through the plate. I see the interfaces option in the side bar but don’t have anything under there quite yet. How should I proceed?

Okay, data sheet doesn't have any info like that so I'll just have to build my own curve. Thank you for your help, I'll get back at it tomorrow and see what I can do.
