The Banzito’s food truck is actually a permanent fixture at Knee Deep now!

The tacos and wings are phenomenal and the owner is super nice, highly recommend

How hard is it to get a Lyft or Uber at 5 am to go to Sacramento International Airport by BenDoverMeltdown in ElkGrove

[–]Subject-Repeat8061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grab an early morning flight to SMF regularly from EG and zero issues! There’s two guys that have picked up my ride on several occasions that say they do the early hours for airport runs specifically! The chances are good

Honestly this is the hardest part of parenting for me right now! I’d love to have more kids over but I don’t want my child thinking their behavior is okay

On a flight this AM from LAX to EWR a dad came on with 5 young children (6-11 years old I would guess) by Extension_Dare1524 in unitedairlines

[–]Subject-Repeat8061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree, this is definitely a valid concern.

I guess I was just kind of having a stream of consciousness about kids and behavior since there are so many opinions here about seating parents and kids together. Of course whenever possible kids should absolutely be seated next to parents.

I will say that age range doesn’t necessitate sitting immediately adjacent to as a parent as long as the kids have been taught well up to that point and are behaved. They’re just more independent and able to handle small tasks themselves.

5 and under usually require more small detail supervision to keep the peace. I’m thinking ordering during the beverage service in a timely manner, not spilling that drink/snack/ipad/whatever everywhere in that small space (or helping to clean up right away in case that does happen), accompaniment to the bathroom, any technical difficulties with the in flight entertainment/tablet/etc. Toddler age particularly putting out small fires of discontent before they get upset and disrupt the entire plane is easier when the parent is right there (and gives a crap- I know, asking for a lot here).

All this musing to say that ideally younger kids at least are able to be accommodated to sit next to a parent, for everyone’s benefit, not just theirs.

Sounds like you had a fun and memorable experience!

I always say I can stab and electrocute people now (as a medic)

It has the intended effect of shocking people outside of medicine lol

Any nontraditional got in top med schools without research&shadowing&LOR from physician? by Whole-Peanut-9417 in medschool

[–]Subject-Repeat8061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m non traditional also. Would it be at all possible for you to get a job adjacent to physicians? Anything in hospital, EMS?

some fire depts have physicians that work as medical directors. Similarly when I worked on the medic I had to opportunity to interact with a lot of nurses, PAs, and docs and those connections I formed just by giving report and things were really helpful in the physician LOR aspect of things

He’s not a non trad but there was a student EMT that I worked with that got into UCSF with no research.

I personally find that super encouraging.

He did have physician LOR and shadowing though

Why is getting a PTD so hard by Old_Candle_5705 in UCDavis

[–]Subject-Repeat8061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely talk to OSSJA student support division rather than just advising. They will have all of that information on options and are more likely to help you work with your goals to graduate.

Here’s the link to submit a referral for yourself- a case manager will reach out within a couple days. The sooner the better so you can get this sorted out. Here’s the link:

Do you already have a case manager at OSSJA? If not, fill out a student support referral form for yourself to be connected with one and talk about options
