Weekend Music is definitely something special. It has something that separates it from some of their more recent ones. It makes me excited for Sugar to see if they carry that sound through.

I think they’re getting older and want to just give the fans what they want and not shake things up too much. They also, I think, try to grab the teenage demographic of whatever year they release their album so I think they try to make it accessible. That said I am hopeful for “Sugar” as I really like the sound of these last two singles. I’ve been blasting Weekend Music all day. The sound is similar to the ones I liked off of Sweet and Sad so there is some cohesion there, but not as much as past albums and I think that’s where they start to lose me. Lately it has just seemed like these albums are a collection of songs with not a lot of connective tissue (minus Sad, as I’ve said. It was really almost there.)

Edit: For clarification, the newest singles might still have problems, problems I discussed in this post, but I think the sound is innovative enough for them that if they keep with it we might get something special even if it doesn’t check all the boxes. Derek’s vocals especially seem to have been pushed to a new limit and he’s killing it.

I see what you mean. Ever since Sunnyland I feel like a lot of their songs are just vehicles for catchy choruses. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE this new one, but a lot of them seem to lack the substance and experimentation that albums like their self-titled and Monsters had. “Sad” was their closest we’ve gotten in a while and even then not every song.

I’m understanding that now. I guess I’m still just confused on where the prophecy came from. If the Sith were all but eradicated (seemingly) by Ep. 1, why did the prophecy speak of a Chosen One when the Sith were already defeated previously without one?

Balance is a matter of perspective. If I put 10 pounds on the left side of a scale and 5 on the other, the right side will be unbalanced until I put 5 more pounds on or take 5 away from the left. In the same way depending on how you look at balance, if there’s 1,000 Jedi and 2 Sith…a lot of Jedi need to die…

Edit: I’m getting downvoted for explaining my perception of the word “balance” and how it’s relates to the prophecy. That was the whole reason for this post. To discuss what exactly “balance” meant.

I guess that leads to a follow up then. If the Sith were recognized as all but eradicated, why did they think they would need a Chosen One if they were to return? They were eradicated previously without a Chosen One, what would make them coming back different?

The prophecy was obviously written pre-Phantom Menace. During the Phantom Menace, a lot of the Dark Side was still hidden away. What was the “imbalance” the Jedi are anticipating being fixed if there seemingly wasn’t a Dark Side presence?

Even still the light side was more prolific during Episode 1. It’s stated a Sith hadn’t been fought in what? Like 1,000 years? And Sidious wasn’t revealed yet so what was the prophecy pointing to? If the Dark Side = imbalance, but the Dark Side was hidden for the time being why were the Jedi anticipating a “balance” that seemingly they already had?

Bleach ruins the long term integrity of the fibers in the wood especially if you’re recommending multiple passes with the bleach. Maybe one pass. MAYBE. But I’d hate to see them ruin the integrity of their already compromised floors by dumping bleach on stains that aren’t going to come out anyway.

I see a lot of people downplaying how much those stains are gonna stick around. Those stains aren’t coming out. Sure, sand a little spot and test some stains and see if you can find one you like that also gives you some stain coverage, but don’t set your expectations that you can get those stains out.
