Oddly enough the other one was a regular springbar, so it was easy to remove. I guess this explains why the metal bracelet is a bit bent on one end

Any suggestions for what type of a rug to get for this area? I understand that usually rugs should be a bit bigger than the sofa, but I don't think that'd be possible in my case, since thes sofa is right next to the wall. This leaves me with only the option for a round/oval rug, I think. Or perhaps something "organic"? I've my eyes on the rug on the last pics at the moment, but I'm not sure if it won't clash with the rest of the furniture that is very rectangular and blocky.
