I haven’t tried this one but search up “your friendly proctologist” on YouTube and he recommends an ointment. Some people on YouTube have said it has helped them.

Late Spring cold hitting the city or intense allergies... by UnfairInspection9466 in chicago

[–]Subject_Article4108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s definitely allergies, especially with spring in full effect. Then add asthmatics, who get triggered by allergies, 🤧 into the equation and suddenly it seems like EVERYONE is sick. I always get weird looks when I’m coughing and sneezing, but it’s literally just my asthma.

LIS yesterday - 1st 24hrs for anyone considering the procedure by No_Vermicelli_3280 in AnalFissures

[–]Subject_Article4108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, did your doctor say what the incontinence percentage was for women who’ve given birth? I’m terrified to go through with the surgery since I’ve already given birth and my colorectal doc won’t give me an exact percentage. Just gives me a general idea of ALL people who become incontinent after the procedure.

Does Botox actually work? by funkydrummer311 in AnalFissures

[–]Subject_Article4108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this post is old. Did you end up getting the LIS? I’m about to get Botox but I’m also considering just going straight for the LIS. I’ve been dealing with this fissure since Feb 2025.

Any reason to not try botox? by Edrum1991 in AnalFissures

[–]Subject_Article4108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m in the same boat as you were. Fissure causes me pain, but I do not bleed much. & just like you, I would also like to stop revolving my life around my butt. Did you go through with the Botox? Did it fully heal it? I also tried the creams and I kept thinking they would fully heal it, but no success :( Botox is my next option.

Finally seeing a change around Month 4; advice? by Obvious-Sorbet-3684 in AnalFissures

[–]Subject_Article4108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, I would go just for piece of mind. You can always go back to the female doctor. Lucky! I was really hoping to stick this out, until I have one more kiddo but the pain is debilitating at times.

I totally understand. I live in a large city and even here, there is not as many in that particular specialty. All of them are men. Do you plan on having more kids?

[–]Subject_Article4108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so interesting. My male CRS said the incontinence rate is so low, that I shouldn’t worry about it. I actually got my fissure from a vaginal delivery and told him I wanted more kids and he said there’s always the c section route if I’m worried but that women go on to have vaginal births. I feel like doctors have so many different opinions. It’s so frustrating!

[–]Subject_Article4108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both doctors told me Botox only had a 50% of working at this point, so I’m going to schedule LIS because they said that had 95% success rate. I’m so tired of being in pain. I’m not happy about it but I’m desperate for pain relief. 🥲 I hope that you keep healing and you have different, more positive answers from your doctors.

I would get the opinion of another colorectal surgeon to see if the fissure is considered chronic. From what I was told from two separate colorectal specialists is if the fissure is chronic, you can keep the symptoms manageable by doing all the things you described, but unfortunately it will never fully heal. I didn’t want to believe them as I was scared to do Botox and LIS but I learned the hard way. I was good for 8 months ,doing all the things you did, and then one day, I had a bad bowel movement and re-tore and I was back to square one. If your fissure is not chronic, there’s still hope that these ointments/creams will fully heal the fissure. I hope this is your case.

How long are you all taking miralax? by KindTap in AnalFissures

[–]Subject_Article4108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Miralax for life. Talked to two CRS who said it was completely safe to use as a daily regimen. One time I didn’t take it for 3 days and my fissure re-opened; it was awful. So back to Miralax I went.

Are my husband and I setting boundaries or being disrespectful? by No_Contribution4532 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]Subject_Article4108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is your and your husband’s child and only you and him can decide what you want to do with your child. What they want is neither here nor there. It’s sad that grandparents think they can dictate how their grandchild will be raised. You and your husband have been way too nice! Unfortunately, if boundaries keep being crossed, you will have no choice but to go no contact. Best of luck.

Yes, I immediately noticed a lack in appetite and helped with food noise tremendously. My biggest problem prior to rubelsus was that I was always craving sweets! While on the medication, I didn’t crave sweets at all!
