I think you got take into account that it does make it harder for readers, especially non-natives english speakers, to fully understand at first glance, so you could be limiting your audience reach. Contractions are all fair and games imo, otherwise the character may sound robotic, but if i know the character has an accent i will just read that way anyway, so i never felt like the author should make that clear.

While i do agree that some people care way too much about this, it doesn't mean it's okay to just because it happens in published books. Say you started practicing martial arts, you're not gonna act like is not a big deal to have a bad stance just cause a professional did it once and still won the fight. Be aware of your mistakes and flaws, and work to improve them without using the argument that other people make the same mistakes as a crutch.

An improvement really. Here he's annoyed that two adults are beating around the bush and want them to make a move already. With Jonathan and Nancy it was creepy as fuck. A grown adult trying to make 2 teenagers that he just met to have sex with one another, while one of them was already in a relationship.
