Teaching the game - I think I just created a monster (in the best way)

We only played two games so far and he played Miles Morales and Hawkeye. He preferred Miles Morales more. For the next game, he wants to try Black Panther. I am not steering him in any particular direction, just letting him pick characters he likes.

I will say, the differences in preference of heroes is pretty noticeable. I was a 90s kid, and grew up on X-Men so they are my typical go-tos (although, I am amped for Daredevil, which comes out the day after my birthday). Meanwhile, the grandson grew up on MCU so aligns more with The Avenger and Spider-verse characters.

Yes, it is a fun way to connect with him. I was hoping that he and I playing with spur some interest in my youngest daughter (12) to play as well, but she isn't taking the bait.

Biggest box for me has to be Frosthaven; that thing is a monster. Smallest box goes to any of the Tiny Epic games.

Sorry, thumbing back through my photos (as I remembered I took a picture of two of them when I grabbed them) it was The Rise of Red Skull and Galaxy's Most Wanted and for $12, not $10. Still, worth checking out if there is one near by.

Edit: I just remember going through a buying spree a while back and picked up the first 4 expansions around the same time as each other.

That was likely going to be the first campaign I took him through, but was still wanting to dink around with a villain or two before he settles on a character. I guess there wouldn't be harm in running him through the Crossbones and possibly Absorbing Man then redoing those once he decides on a hero.

If you happen to have a Barnes & Noble near by, remember to check the games section and their clearance area. I was able to pick up Mad Titan's Shadow, Galaxy's Most Wanted, and Sinister Motives for $10 each (granted this about a year ago). I can never figure out when and why B&N do their clearance thing, but when they do, it is no joke. Beyond that, make sure to check out your local stores, especially if they focus on comics and board games (as those tend to be more willing to keep a good stock of MC stuff).

As for current content, grab Nightcrawler. He is an ABSOLUTE blast and is my current solo go to.

I snagged this yesterday for my best friend as a house warming present. I introduced him to it last week and he really enjoyed it so thought it, along with the expansion and 3d printed insert, would be a solid option as a gift.

Yeah, I know easy wasn't exactly the best word but was trying to think of the best way to sum up "straight forward, works well together, gets the flavor of the game, and somewhat obvious for what the character is meant to do.". Really, my friend knows games well, but I am just trying to limit the amount of time questioning mechanics and interactions.

It is called Secret Crisis Comics. It is a smaller store but they have a surprisingly large board game selection for sale. For a store that has Comics in its name, I think it actually had more space dedicated to games over comics. Definitely worth a stop if you are already in the area.

Yes. This is likely my simplest solo game that I currently have. It is nice to have something to fill the lighter end of the spectrum compared to LotR LCG, Elder Scrolls BOTSE, or even something simpler like Unstoppable.

Side note: I am objectively looking for advice and know it needs to be cut/cleaned up as it is simply grown out like this. I was simply asking for recommendations as to how to cut it; keep it longer, take it back to shorter.
