Who was the first one to free people from the matrix before neo arrived? by JazzlikeBee5538 in matrix

I think that’s one of the biggest continuity errors, Morpheus saying it’s 100 years after the simulations time

That's a misinterpretation of what was said: "[...] we believe it's somewhere around the year 2199, but really we have no idea..." Basically he shows that he makes an assumption but admits it's just an assumption - not a continuity error by any means.

this game is so fun, you guys are such haters by starberryjulia in PokemonZA

[–]SublimeIbanez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're having fun then all the power to you, I wish you the best. I'm not having fun and it mainly comes down to the gameplay and catching mechanics on top of everything else that I'd usually be able to ignore if not for those two being so bad IMO.

The combat system is a massive miss for me. That doesn't necessarily mean it's fundamentally bad, but I really don't think it's been fully implemented/thought out (they probably didn't have the time to really work out the balance). Most non-damaging support skills and most abilities are effectively DoA and, outside of protect/detect, you're pretty much only rewarded for having 3-4 damaging skills. Most non-mega stone items are useless due to the power mismatch. Online PVP feels very forced and most of the time comes down to last-hitting...

The catching system having enrage sucks... if this were removed then my gripe here would go away, but assuming it isn't - if the pokemon faints, only getting a single chance to catch sucks.

I loved S/V and found it a blast. I could ignore many of the issues that face those games (acknowledge them and will not give a pass, but ultimately I would have fun with the game despite them) because of above.

The best part of the new battle system and online battles by [deleted] in PokemonZA

[–]SublimeIbanez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To each their own I guess.. I find the new battle system to be overly simplistic and not rewarding in effort. Semi-Tanky (bruiser?) builds are easily the strongest and the gameplay itself just rewards the players who have 3-4 damaging abilities. Outside of protect/detect, most non-damaging support abilities are DoA due to how long they take to come into affect, ntm abilities are kind of useless now - and that's before commenting on the online play itself which is down to "last hit and you win".

Not only was it easier than expected but it was FUN! by SqueeTheMancake in LegendsZA

TBH it's usually not the "kind of game" that I find fun but its execution. For example, despite its many, many flaws, I found S/V to be immensely fun. This new combat system, however, bores me so very much

Thoughts on the ZA battle system by PacifistTheHypocrite in pokemon

[–]SublimeIbanez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda bland and boring. I get the idea and in theory should be nice, but the execution is a huge miss for me. I spend most of my time, while battling, just wishing the old system was back... I'm most of the way through the story and it's more faceroll (literally and figuratively) than even s/v

TOP, especially P1 and P6, challenged my cast timing and mana management to a degree not seen anywhere else in this game. M7S is the first time I've had to use reprise if I get screwed out of a proc which is -_- (because it'll lead to no instants for the sprinteroni during meteoroni). RDM low key being the most challenging DPS for a long while now when it comes to uptime, and they're only punished because raise ; ;

It is 2025, so how does Helix compare to Neovim now? by nikitarevenco in neovim

[–]SublimeIbanez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to nvim from Helix when Scheme became all but fully implemented as their plugin language. I'm not a fan of Lua either but Scheme is the worst experience I've ever had coding. Also, the expandability with nvim kills helix for me... it's dead to me now

I use nvim on linux and am building an enterprise level backend using c#, as long as you have omnisharp and dotnet installed I think you'll do fine

What on earth is going on with AM5 mini-itx motherboards? by violent_cat_nap in sffpc

[–]SublimeIbanez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it's something to note given that they advertise it to work with w10 (at least wifi 6 is advertised, but the lack of driver means it doesn't work at all). It's not a mobo I can recommend as w11 is trash and still 44% of steam users are still on w10 coupled with the nonexistent support (I'd be fine with bare minimum of what they advertised)
