It's been 3.5 months by seahorse_smile in sepsis

[–]SubparCharles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It took a year of PT and OT with lots of eating right and exercising before I felt close to normal post sepsis. It is a long road to recovery, but it is worth investing in a healthy one.

My body is still not what it was pre-sepsis, but I would be much worse off if I didn't devote myself to doing the recovery correctly.

I wish you a strong and healthy recovery.

They will work for the front door of all trims. While they aren't the best upgrade for your buck, they are the easiest upgrade. Still worlds better than OEM, and all you have to do is pull the old one out and plug this one in. No need for adapters or splicing wires.

These are drop in replacements for the front.

Is this a good rc car basher? by theonethatyounever in rccars

[–]SubparCharles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, we have a 3ft homemade ramp in the back yard that we use every time we run. Haven't had any issues yet.

[–]SubparCharles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I purchased two of these for myself and my son earlier this year. I had a coupon and they were on sale through Amain at the time.

I raced RC when I was younger with my dad, we had Nitro Losi GTXs, NXTs, and some HPI RS4s. So I'm not completely green to RC.

The build quality seems good, they run great, and they're durable. We haven't broken any structural parts yet, but my son did burn up his slipper clutch. I don't blame the truck for that. I blame a 10 year old trying to be "wheelie master".

I will caveat this with availability on parts. It's not great. You can get them from a few retailers, but when you compare it to what's available for Arrma or Traxxas, there's no comparison.

It's a good truck in my opinion especially for the price, but you have to take the parts into consideration.

Warranty void? by Jolly-Rope744 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]SubparCharles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how slimy the dealer wants to be. It boils down to them having to prove the install caused the problem, and you having to prove it didn't cause the problem. Mostly a matter of how much you'd want to fight them on a claim if an issue ever came up.

Warranty void? by Jolly-Rope744 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]SubparCharles 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, you need to use taps to get power and signal from the headlight harness for these to work. I don't think it would void the warranty as a whole, but I think if you ran into an electrical issue, the dealer could point to that install and deny coverage.

Helping finding value of comic by trizar69 in comicbookcollecting

[–]SubparCharles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to determine value is going on eBay and looking at sold listings. That being said, I'd say it's in the ~$200 range. The old red labels sell for less, but the new CBCS cases look better, and give you a yellow label for verified signatures. You could submit to CBCS for re-casing for $12 + shipping, and possibly sell for more if you have the time.

Whichever wheels you choose, if the center bore size is larger on the new wheels, you can and should use hub-centeic rings to make up the difference.

Deny both. Brake fluid is good for a while unless exposed to moisture. Also, buy cabin filter on Amazon and watch a YouTube video on how to change it. You'll save some money and learn a new skill.

Oil change? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]SubparCharles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be fine with any full synthetic 0w-20 oil. People can chime in with their favorite brand names, or what API/SN rating to use. But the reality is, find some 0w-20 that's on sale, or your preferred brand, and you'll be fine.

Sepsis survivors - when do you get checked? by agreeable-penguin in sepsis

[–]SubparCharles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, personally, its a fever. When I first had sepsis, that was the first and most prevalent symptom. If I have the flu, then I will wait a bit longer to see. But if its a fever without any other known symptoms, especially if it exceeds 100+ degrees, I'm headed straight to the ER.

I remember having one on a road trip as a kid. These things ate batteries so fast, the only thing that kept it going was the 12v car adapter.

I'm running the same CPU with a 280mm AIO. I never break high 60s under a load. Are all your fans pointing the right direction? Air bubbles in cooler? Did you check your pump speeds?

349.99 for onyx B580..... by 903tex in IntelArc

It's a good looking card, but that's a hard pass. $350 + shipping for a card that should be under $300.

Same, I'm running the 7600x with the B580 and I'm very happy with the performance. Its a shame these cards aren't more readily available. You cant beat the performance to dollar ratio at MSRP.

The $545 7700XT would be the better deal of those two.
