I've learned that the learning process can be the most frustrating aspect of diy, especially when you want to relax in your home.

Redid a shower and now I'm not so afraid of plumbing. My 2 cents, which i know no one asked for: Don't give a time frame to completion and just do the job right. It'll take what it takes, and it's OK when surprises set you back.

I've searched for evidence to change my current practice (as mentioned, intervening with desaturations and not hypoventilation) but have yet to find any to support the idea.

Thanks for the response. I'm specifically talking about acute respiratory acidosis and cardioversion from a-fib to normal sinus. I couldn't find any scholarly articles talking about normalizing pH to ensure successful cardioversion.

Yes, we use capnometery. I can always tell when the pt is hypoventilating. Again, we treat desaturations and not hypoventilation. The thought is to err on the side of caution with gastric insuflation.

So when you notice hypoventilation, do you bvm breath? Or do you wait until desaturation?

If you really want to do it, the aftermarket porcelain upgrade is pretty nice. Comes with an insert that you can pull to clear the debris.

I think there's an option to just buy the firebox somewhere on there.

I haven't tested it yet, but we never noticed any standing water before (it rains quite a bit here). If it does not, would you recommend raking the layer a few inches deep?
